The March CPI data came in at 3.5%, higher than expected. This data, along with the PPI data released earlier, indicates inflation is not subsiding as quickly as some had hoped. The Bond Market is reacting to the CPI data with expectations of higher interest rates. The Federal Reserve is stuck in a difficult situation. They may raise interest rates to fight inflation, but this could also lead to a decrease in the value of the US dollar. On the other hand, if they keep interest rates low, inflation could continue to rise. Investors are looking to precious metals like gold as a hedge against inflation. Schneider believes that gold could reach $3,000 per ounce in the near future, due to a number of factors including geopolitical uncertainty, rising debt levels, and continued inflation. She also recommends keeping an eye on silver, which could outperform gold in a high inflationary environment.

Pockets of inflation? We have overall inflation steady for 2 years.. look at cost of things in nyc.. housing and food across the country.... giant credit card debt and cc interest rates are historically inflated. We are all inflated. Not just pockets. People are living off their credit cards and choosing between food and medicine .. smh and no fed speakers are saying the same thing.. this cant continue w/o repercussions
