Dude, that bag was filled with rocks. He stole that gold and spent it. The whole "oops I forgot the gold" and then it drops into the water doesn't wash.

@@bctrails7206 the current would have carried the bag downstream into the Pacific Ocean. He probably tested it so that it would sink to the bottom and then roll in the strong current so that if they found it he could say the gold must have washed out. This was no accident dude.

I had no idea so much gold was taken out and the populations involved . Wonder what the % were on the freight. How was the gold safeguarded much less the mayhem of a bunch of very greedy miners? Why did it go to Victoria? I would love to get the whole picture.
