In a normal season, Arsenal aren’t in the running for top four. The fact that United and Spurs have been as bad as they have for a lot of the season and are still competing or ran close to the top four with Arsenal, reflects really poorly on Arsenal under Arteta that had no European commitments. It's soft but it's a pen, he pushed him in the back far to early and came from a good distance away to do it. To get away with them you need to nudge him a little later and maybe do if from a yard away, he's ran 4 yards to then jump into the back of him making no attempt to play the ball.

OK, let me explain why that is a penalty and not "a shoulder barge". Son was in the air for 1 thing, so you cannot "shoulder barge" someone when you're in the air, that's the first thing. Second, you have to make some attempt to win the ball. Cedric was making a challenge - he jumped into Son, so that is making a challenge, it isn't just a collision (like if Cedric was simply running back & Son jumped into him), and despite making a challenge, Cedric wasn't even looking at the ball, he was nowhere near it. The best way to describe it in order to prove it was a penalty, however 'soft', is if instead of a cross Son was running onto a through ball along the ground and Cedric comes from behind and just runs straight into Son, making a challenge but not even trying to get the ball. That's a penalty, it just is
