Why did Mikel Arteta revert to the system that saw them struggled to score goals? Kia Havertz is not a no.8, and Gabriel Jesus is obviously struggling heading the line. Look at how Arsenal struggled even after Trossard put them ahead. Not until Jesus was replaced and Thomas Partey came on, that we managed to score that pivotal second goal to seal the points. When the team sheet came out, I knew we will not see that vintage Arsenal that would win the game within the first half hour. The only reason I could think of for Mikel to do that is to keep the scoreline under 2.5 throughout the entire game.

@ballysillanbsbc3363 Be practical about things. These are not complaints but blatant facts. Mikel did not even explain why he changed the formation that helped him win 10 and draw 1. On the 12th game he reverted to the old where they struggled to score goals. Yesterday, if he had played the normal formation and Partey in the middle of the park, Wolves would have been trounced at least 5 goals, and not 2. Did we really lose to Aston Villa? He is not saying anything because he is unable to justify his tactics. There is absolutely no logic to it. He is supposed to lose the game against Villa and today beating Wolves but by a lesser margin. Hence, the only way to achieve them is to deploy a lesser formation.
