Mark says Pep can’t turn McTominey into De Bruyne etc but he does have a record for improving players to the best they can be (Stones, Walker etc) in a well-coached system that gets the best out of them and also figuring out who are the ones that aren’t going to improve. The right manager will do this - you’re right it’s not a “magic wand”, it’s just elite level coaching. Recruitment then takes you to the next level. But United’s problem - and it has been for a while - is getting the deadweight out first..

Malacia had a good firdt season injired all this one. Matinez good majority of the time, erikson half a season decent, moint nothing yet, rasmus young and developing, onana not sold as yet on him, bayinder doesnt play so hard to judge him, Antony is a unanimous agreement. i just don’t get why there isn’t a style of play yet, like even arsenal when they finished 7th or whatever it was u could see their style of play but they just had to fill in the gaps with better players, u could see klopps style of play first season he just needed the players, and u could see brightons style of play under de zerbi it’s just they won’t get to a point where they’ll have good enough players to be consistent. The thing that i have problem with Ten hag is that he seems to have a core group which he doesnt wanna change or fear to change. I guess he doesnt want any more drama because he already had enough. He was courageous before,i dont think he is now. I see Bruno and Rashford being dreadful,still they play for full 90. I see Mctominay play in midfield and get run over in a game where strength wouldnt work. You required technicality which he unfortunately doesnt have. He can run into spaces and is a good player when he has spaces,like against Liverpool,against players who set up a wall,you require quick feets to move through it,which is dont think he has. Garnacho is being subbed off all the time. Amad is being looked off. Casemiro is fit and he doesnt play. Somehow he can play for 40 odd minutes but cant start. Mount aswell. When we lack technicality in game,we have erikson,mount and still Bruno plays. Maino is good with ball at his feet,can play thorugh tight soaces and somehow he is the defensive midfielder and is the first to get replaced. I seriously hate it
