I think Gerri stays and is so invested because she and Logan had a thing a long way back (it was said in the show), and I think we may see that lost or betrayed love playing out in either a steadfast loyalty to Logan OR that she totally betrays him in the end. either way, my point is that her internal motivation has everything to do with what happened between Gerri and Logan many years ago.
