GOLDEE'S BACKYARD SMOKER IDEA IN MY DREAM OFFSET BUILD PT.2

So, for a few years now, it's been my dream to build and design my own offset smoker from scratch... but I have never really had the money or means to get it done. Luckily for me, a good friend has offered to help with the fabrication, along with some others, for bit's here and there (Watch to find out 😉)
Also, big thanks to Smokey Oak Barbecue for their help and advice!
Goldee's new offset really caught my eye with the 90 coming out of the fire box!
I reached out to them, asking to completely replicate it, and they basically said,'Go for it'!
But then I thought about how I want to design my own offset smoker and how my build will simply incorporate Goldee's 90 idea into the design along with some other bespoke configurations I've always wanted in an offset!

It's coming on well! Look forward to seeing thermal imaging of it after tweaking the deflectors. I think you're also gonna need a counter weight for the lid to make that easier for lifting and closing.

Was thinking of making one similar but having the 90 from the firebox enter higher in the cook chamber to try to eliminate the hotspot. Thoughts?

I happen to build a pretty similar smoker with the 90 and a collector. I went with a square firebox because that's what I had available for material. I'm having the same temp issue as you where the upper cook chamber is far hotter than lower. have you had a chance to play with that? Did the diverter work for you?
