Finally somebody did it! A harpsichord cover of Golden Brown! I waited for years to hear this. This song has some unique magic in it and it only the harpsichord can truely unfold it. Piano and guitar are nice but this song just needs the harpsichord. Brilliant, Sir, just brilliant! I enjoyed it immensely! Thank you so much! (In case you are heading for ultimate perfection you can try to put even more emotions in it, emphasizing certain parts, or play it on a real old harpsichord on the next run.)
@Bar-T7 жыл бұрын
Lennard I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I guess that I was so focused on staying in sync that I forgot to pay attention to the performance. In fact, I had to slightly slow down the original as it has been recorded in in awkward pitch and retune my harpsichord to match it.
@Sillywalks7747 жыл бұрын
You did very well. I imagine it is super tough to learn. I dream of playing it one day. Unfortunately I never had any piano lessons let alone harpsicord lessons. I assume you have to practice many years before it makes sense to learn how to play Golden Brown?

Francesca Miller Thanks so much! I couldn’t agree more on the song crying for the harpsichord stem. In fact, I think the band used a genuine one on the recording, but as this was the song that raised my interest in the instrument, I couldn’t help doubling the harpsichord part.
@Delilah706 жыл бұрын
@@Bar-T I can tell that this song really inspired you, because you have it note for note perfect (I totally understand!) I can also understand that you wouldn't necessarily be inspired by the Harpsichord before this song because they were used primarily in Elizabethan music (yawn, but please correct me if I'm wrong). Leave it to an astoundingly creative British band to make the instrument popular again in the 20th century. So, you bought a Harpsichord after hearing this song? How much did it cost? Is the one you bought and the one the Stranglers used like the original instrument? Because I've seen old film footage and they seem a lot more complicated. The sound is amazing.
