I HAVE AN AMAZING UPDATE ABOUT THE DETROIT YOUTH CHOIR First, I want to Thank you so much for reacting to The Detroit Youth Choir and giving them a platform on your channel. I didn’t expect them to win. I believed it would be Kodi who deserved to win, or maybe V-Unbeatable. But, I still supported them. We should always support and encourage our children who are trying to do something positive in their lives, knowing the obstacles they have to overcome. You were one of only a few to even react to their performances. But, for me, they were the dark horse who could surprise us and they did. They came in 2nd. Since they returned home, THE DETROIT YOUTH CHOIR RECEIVED A 1 MILLION DOLLAR ENDOWMENT FROM LOCAL PHILANTROPIES TO ENSURE THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO RECEIVE SUPPORT AND INVEST IN YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE FUTURE. This is unheard of as a follow-up of a talent competition. It shows how much of an impact they had on the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan. They represent hope in dark times!!! Because almost everyone in the city and state voted for them, they came in 2nd place. Julianne Hough said something that was so insightful on one of the competition nights. She said, she dared? to say that The Detroit Youth Choir was "Beyond" AGT. And, I agree. I have my own thoughts as to why and how The Detroit Youth Choir came in 2nd. There were a number of factors. Their back story was very touching. So many of them had to overcome enormous obstacles. Theirs was an American story of the American Dream that you can come from the most challenging of circumstances and still have the opportunity to become successful through hard work, faith, and someone (like a Mr. White) who believes in supporting and investing in the lives of young people. The 2nd reason is that there ISN’T a lot of positive news coming out of Detroit, a city ravaged by challenges. The Detroit Youth Choir became a beacon of light, pride, and hope for "The City" and for the entire state. There was an all-out campaign to get the city and state involved in the voting process. Detroit and the state of Michigan voted en masse. People wore purple for days, buildings were draped and lit up in purple lights, and more. The mayor was involved and the local news was even more enthusiastic and supportive. I can count how many of us reacted to them at all. So once again, I want to thank you for giving them a platform and encouraging them as they fought to Dream the Impossible Dream. Our children need encouragement and hope and we should support them, even if we don’t think they should win, we can still give them exposure, support, and a platform and that’s what you did and I appreciate it. Mr Anthony White and Mr Terry Crews are real gentleman and an inspiration to all. Mr White has been directing that choir for 21 years. Think of the hundreds and hundreds of kids that he has helped. I like what he said about the kids, "take some talent and put a little water on it and watch it grow." How true! And Kellz, I always like your comments. Every judge plus the host can hit the golden buzzer, so every year the host has hit it. I believe they’ve had 3 hosts including Terry, Nick Cannon and Tyra Banks were the other ones.
