Great and unique player. Goes from rhythmic to lyrical seamlessly/naturally. Good singer too. Great band as a matter of fact. The push for this band internationally didn't go as well as it could have. They did pretty well for themselves. But musicians/their peers don't give them the love they should. There's a lot of lessons to be learned from them. A real band. Brothers to the end. Not just some dudes who made some bread in the music business.

Same might be said about all band members. Rinus Gerritsen is monstrous with his bass lines, Cesar Zuiderwijk, one of the best drummers out there and of course Barry Hay., the intensity of his delivery is even more outstanding than his rasp. World class, the lot of them.

@FlyingSavannahs3 жыл бұрын
@Robo Q-Man Not many blank cassettes or recorders in 1973. I had to use reel-to-reel for quite some time. Interestingly, back in the '70s, KQRS FM in Minneapolis, MN, would queue up albums at midnight for the express purpose of listener recording. The DJs would give you time to prepare for the needle to drop and to reset your interval between A and B sides of the album. No one cared about copyrights back then, I guess! KQRS was the first pop song format FM station in the Twin Cities area when the FM migration of pop music started.
@FlyingSavannahs3 жыл бұрын
@@ScottyKirk1 A little Wikipedia surf came up with this, FYI (you never know when you might be on Jeopardy!) "In the mid-1960s, KQRS [102.5 FM] programmed a Middle of the Road-format (MOR) with classical and big band music and Brazilian Bossa Nova music in evenings. In addition to this format, Joe Pyne's talk radio show was carried. In the summer of 1968, KQRS started experimenting with freeform rock in the late night hours with a program called "Nightwatch" with George Donaldson Fisher as DJ. This became very popular with college age listeners and in a few months the rock format was expanded to begin playing in the evenings as well with DJ Alan Stone, and was known as "Nightwatch Trip One", with Fisher's program renamed slightly as "Nightwatch Trip Two." A few months later, this became the primary 24-hour format. The station is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary as a rock station. By 1977, the freeform rock would give way to a tightly programmed rock approach, courtesy of radio consultants Burkhart/Abrams and their "Superstars" format, which was essentially just the hits from album rock."
