I would say as a general rule, gold metallics ALWAYS let you down in some way. I gave up with it. Doesn't matter what brand, don't use them in pieces, just tags and outlines. Save yourself the painful experimentation (and the money too, lets be honest). I think you can be much more flexible and unburdened by how bad they are if you use a beige or sand in your piece instead and drench it with rendering, and finish it with sparkly highlights to accomplish what metallic cans wish they could look like. It takes a lot of time but gold paint just always looks like ass and lets your work down.

A bit ugly but if you experiment your gonna find what works and what doesnt, honestly trying random things is the best thing you can do if you used something that wasnt gold the red with the shading underneath was really cool, jusst a bad color combo imo
