Golden Grove to Adelaide on Bike Paths

What a fab video. I myself am obsessed with bike paths. I live at Athelstone only 2.5km from the Torrens Linear park. I sometimes do the Jubilee Way parkrun & have mates that live at Golden Grove, just near Bicentennial Drive, so often ride there via Torrens path from the hills end, link with O-Bahn path at Paradise then Dry Ck path, exactly as you did in this vid. Oh yeah, I also happen to drive the O-Bahn buses, fun gig & I always love to wave to the walkers & cyclists along the path, who knows, I could have been driving one of the buses you videoed here. Chris did a great job explaining the system. As I'm someone who operates it, he was spot on and concise with his explanation.

Yay.. morning motivation for a Saturday cycle ride .. todays weather 5 to 13c with showers I can’t believe it’s so sunny… sooo lucky, the bright tops you all got on are sooo bright It’s so nice to have such a nice cycle path. And so green and empty

Hi John 😃 yes, I tried using it a couple years ago but it really confused me! I discovered by exploring instead, it was actually one of the reasons I started making bike path videos, because I didn't find the app helpful and I wanted to make it easier for people to find and ride the bike paths. The app may be better now??

@@CyclewithSerafina I've had a few over the years, Yukon is the current fur baby. They look like wolves and sometimes think they are, but they're really cute and generally friendly. They love sledding!!!! They go crazy when the harnesses come out and can't wait to go. They're very smart, sometimes too smart for own good. They can act like little people, you can see them " thinking" about different situations by their expressions. In my opinion, a fuzz pup is a waayyy better company that pesky kids!

@@CyclewithSerafina during the warm season you can do training with a "wheel rig" similar to a heavily modified tricycle that you stand on. But you're correct, it is possible to over work a dog in warm weather and actually condition him "not" to run, or "break" your dog. You get to know when they've had enough for a session and it's back to the shade for a rest. My pup will sit/lay down and not go farther unless we turn for home! In summer we play outside more at night after sun goes away. I don't like the heat either.⛄❄🌘 It is possible to be owned by huskies in warm climates, just be sure to educate yourself about their personality traits and what you need to do to provide a good home for them.

@@wolf-walker Hearing this, I think I'd feel a bit mean making a husky live with me in a warm place like Adelaide! NZ is probably a much better climate, it snows in winter, and doesn't get too hot in summer. I had border collies in NZ, they needed to be kept active and loved working on the farm with the sheep, when I see border collies kept as pets in the city, in small apartments, it's a bit sad, I feel huskies are similar in a way?

It's an awesome ride! 😁 agree, the signage is very lacking, but if you follow the river, you can't get lost, then follow the O'bahn and you can't get lost... hopefully the signage is improved soon! 🤞🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Instead of turning left at Lyons Rd you can also go straight takes you the same way ends up meeting with the linear trail.also saves having to go under the OBahn.

Unfortunately, can't get the gpx file from Strava. A group of us are hoping to ride this on Thursday. Any chance of making it available elsewhere (or do we have to be "'friends"' to download the gpx file (note only using Strava in free mode) ?

@@CyclewithSerafina Thanks, I can now download the gpx file to put on my Bryton gps unit. I've done Mawson lakes to Wynn Vale dam and Adelaide Torrens ride to Black Hill including to Morialta Falls but never Adelaide to Wynn Vale so looking forward to this.

@@CyclewithSerafinaA group of us often use the train, so for the ride to Wynn Vale dam we trained it to Mawson Lakes, rode to Wynn Vale dam and then on through Cobbler Creek Recreation Park, then back through Carisbrook Park to Salisbury Railway station. Trip was about 32km so a good fun sized ride. Mountain bikes best for the cobbler creek bit. I think the train is a hidden gem as it allows you to finish at a location different from the start.

Agree about bright colours but do sometimes get sick of looking like a lollipop on wheels, so have to tone it down a bit. Anyway, if I stick mainly to bike tracks and quiet roads I might just not become another stat.
