Not only is he not in range, his head is only seen at an angle, go to any high vantage point (top of stairs, building, roof of house, etc) and peer down and slowly move back, at a certain point the line of sight of something you was looking at will be gone but you will still be at an elevated position, just not Ina line of sight. >Hope that makes sense

Usually no, he could've been using to stabilize his rifle though, if youre far enough away it probably doesnt matter. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your concealtibility for accuracy, as he didnt have a table or anything in that room to prop his rifle against. Source: stepdad was a marine sniper

As an armchair general, I believe that a sniper should not operate in a combat area alone as a lone wolf. As demonstrated by the Japanese soldiers, a sniper or sharpshooter, should contribute to his squad. His priorities are to counter snipe other snipers, eliminate high value targets, and provide over watch to cover his squad as they move to complete their objectives. A lone sniper is but one man, it is the squad wins battles.

Post Russo-Japanese war, several groups are searching for a hidden stash of gold. The map to which is written on the bodies of escaped convicts who need to be killed and skinned to get their map fragment. There are several groups that the narrative switches between that are all looking for the gold for their own reasons. It's got a serious undertone but moment to moment it can hop between slice of life, homoerotic comedy, and life or death struggles. First season suffers a bit from wonky CG but the story is generally entertaining with overall good pacing. If you are looking specifically for the fights and want it to be just that you'd be better off just looking them all up on KZbin it's got some great ones that are both realistic (with some narrative liberties) and enjoyable even without narrative context, however it is more in the adventure genre than a fighting one so they will typically be an episode or two between the big ones.

I would say it is near supernatural, in that there are people who are impossibly strong, are able to survive wound's they shouldn't and one character who even uses echo-location, it does have a focus on war, but also exploring the culture of the Ainu people of Japan and Russia. There is a lot of slice of life in between, and the plot is ridiculous in a good way.

@@Cloud_Seeker Likely because of fear, Vasily had already likened Sugimoto's approach to that of a wild animal, and was easily overpowered in seconds in a brawl, he had no confidence in being able to win. These are bolt actions due to being pre-WW1, and Vasily knows that if Sugimoto misses, which is entirely likely given his savageness, he has a good gap to escape and press his own advantage. Also all this talk about realism, if a massive man suddenly sneaks up on you, beat you down and overpowers you, of course the first instinct is to get the hell away. And also, it takes only seconds to get out of that room, not enough time for Sugimoto to pick up his gun and get an accurate shot off, and once you break line of sight, he can run.
