Have a background in art & was taught theoretically about the golden ration but never shown a practical way to use it! MANY thanks, keep doing the things!!

Thanks you very much Mr. Dansky. I've tried to find books about designing with a golden ratio, none of them help, but your Golden ratio content is exactly what I've longed for. You're my favorite. Subscribed.

If you place a ruler on the bottom edge of the circles, the "new" circle that you copy and enlarge will always snap to that rule and enlarge smoothly without breaking the symmetry. It helps with random jagged "noise" bits that can appear if the "magic snap" was not perfectly accurate.

What do you mean by a ruler?

Hi Danksy! Love your tutorials. They're simple and easy to grasp. I tried the golden ratio bird and found the repetitive part funny, actually. The bird turned out great. Sad thing: KZbin doesn't allow sharing pictures in the comments, otherwise it would've been cool to share our versions.

Benn working in photoshop for a few years not but illustrator is so much more complicated . this video helped me out a ton! thank man keep it up
@YaroLord5 жыл бұрын
trust me it's not complicated at all the problem is that people try to use Ai the same way they use Ps, and that's just entering a world of pain they're 2 entirely different programs with some similarities - use the similarities as a kickstart, not as a base to learn how to use the program
@mch9835 жыл бұрын

So incredibly helpful. Thanks. Perhaps consider a video in future about converting a logo that you've designed (not specifically considering the golden ratio) into something that works with the ratio. It'll be great to see your thoughts and process on something like that.

When you said "have the golden ratio in mind when you are sketching out a design before putting it in Illustrator, can you describe a little more about how someone should go about doing that when sketching? (sorry very much a beginner here lol)
@drawingandthings68514 жыл бұрын
I believe they mean that don't just make a design and then try to apply the golden ratio hoping it's gonna work. If you plan to have a logo that follows the golden ratio, have the curves and angles for it so when you do put it into Illustrator, the circles align and fit properly or at least close enough to your design.

It is more easy to make circles 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34 cm and then reduce or enlarge altogether to get desired size. Each number is the sum of two preceding numbers except first two numbers. second number is the double of first number.
