I have been watching your videos from across the pond, and I appreciate your expertise, your enthusiasm, and your sense of humor. When I was a younger man, I did a lot of running. The same golden rule applied,-it was too hot, too cold, too hilly, too rainy, too humid, didn’t wear the right shoes, eat too much for breakfast etc. to beat my personal best, but once I got going none of that mattered. Thanks.

Had to smile when you talked about scrambling down the cliff to get an "inaccessible" shot being difficult "for a man of my age". Since following your channel, I've discovered several great waterfalls very near where I live but most demand a precarious scramble down gully sides - not easy for a man of my age - 70 😂. However, I'm enjoying the challenge and you've opened up a new rich vein of landscape locations for me. Many thanks for another entertaining video.

I have been to Hartland Quay 3 times in the last couple of years & it is not an easy place to get a good photograph. I will go back & try again when I return to Exmoor later in the year. Don't underestimate Devon my boy, from a Devon maid. Morewentstow, slightly further down the coast is also equally stunning. We broke down the 1st time with the car bonnet parked facing the sea wall opposite the Hotel. My husband had flattened the battery of the car as he fell asleep with the radio on. Sadly, I didn't get a decent sunset while waiting for the AA. Nice to see you in my part of the world & now you know why I don't go else where. "Devon Glorious Devon". Stay safe & well.

Aw shame you didn’t get the composition on the beach. James thoroughly enjoyed his day with you down at Hartland. I enjoyed it too. We plan to go again but at the end of the summer when sunset is slightly earlier as it was a bit of a drive. Next time you come down this way, can I suggest you visit west Cornwall? Look up Port Nanvan. It is not for the faint hearted, you have to do some climbing but it is amazing there and Cape Cornwall and visit The Lizard - Kynance Cove. Many people prefer Cornwall to Devon but I am bias. 😉 The peninsula is a beautiful place.

@iaincphotography60513 жыл бұрын
That first shot when you changed it to B+W, sublime, your follow-on shots superb. A couple of more rules for you on coastal shoots. Tide heights are given on an ave air pressure of 1013hp, so for every 1Hp drop in the air pressure, the tide will be 1cm higher. A drop of air pressure to 950 your tide height will be 63 cm higher. The other rule is the rule of 1/12s tide rise of say 12ft first hour, 1ft, 2nd a further 2ft, 3rd a further, 3ft, 4th a further 3ft, 5th a further 2ft and the last hour a further 1ft. It explains why people get stuck on rocks! We need to look at shipping forecasts for coastal weather far more help. The only problem I see with Devon, it's on the wrong side of the River Tamar, lol
