Funny anecdote I have about this game... When I was like 12 or something, I picked up some GBA beat 'em up from a used games bin at EB Games. Took it home, and I guess the person who traded it in made one Hell of a mistake, because Golden Sun was in there instead. I was going to take it back to the store, but decided to give it a try. I only heard the first 5 seconds of the Vale theme and immediately adored it, and I loved it more and more as the game went on. To this day, it's one of my favorite games. An addictive, original, well-designed and all-around fantastic RPG that will definitely stand the test of time; yet it's the charm that truly makes the game truly amazing. TL;DR: Best nostalgia trip ever!

+Ven's Vids. Well they removed the ice climbers because the 3ds couldn't handle the necessary coding for two characters at once, or at least that's the official statement from Nintendo. It's kinda weird to think that the 3ds could handle Rosalina and Luma, but not ice climbers. As for Lucas, I really don't know why they removed him. It's probably just Sakirai being Sakirai again. One argument could be that he was a clone, but considering that they added 2 more clone characters in this game, and those characters had very minimal changes, I'd say that isn't the reason.

@@jezupercy3029 in a way i can see why they lowered the difficulty on some bosses, Dullahan, Saturos, Fusion Dragon, the Kraken are all pretty difficult walls if you arent prepared for them. Atleast Dullahan is optional though.

@@Luuute As long as you are fighting every world battle without running, and have moderately up to date gear, you can easily sustain the required power level to overcome these fights. BUT, I do admit, for anyone that is unfamiliar with the concept of level upkeep, it can be easy to fall into the trap of skipping fights with the feathers of evasion and wasting money on healing items at the general store

Reece Wittman your so right FF7 is so hyped because it was a lot of peoples first experience with the series and/or rpgs in general. I still like 4/6 better than 7 even after all these years (I still love 7 though). Golden sun was definitely under rated. I want another one for Wii or Wii U. If you have to use the motion stuff just make some of the powers use them. Otherwise just more of a good thing.

Isaac was my "game character" when i was a kid back in 2001. Golden Sun alongside pokemon and the previous Mother 2 series shaped my imagination. This song AKA Isaacs theme was and will be a masterpiece. The game so awesome.

Bartholomew Peter Hmm.. The issue is getting the licensing rights for him again. Dunno what the figures were for Camelot releasing him to be used as a trophy, but since he's not Nintendo owned, it's not as easy as Little Mac. Now since Nintendo is jumping on the DLC train, they can try doing him as a DLC character, and pray that the coinage adds up to pay for the licensing. That's one of the reasons why Geno isn't in the game, because getting the license from $queenix is way too costly to just add him in.

Golden Sun is an amazing RPG series. It has all the good, tried and tested features RPG games often have, but it's also got enough unique features to make it completely unlike any other RPG. The Djinn system is a stroke of genius. Seriously whoever thought of these little cute creatures you can assign to each character to boost their stats deserves all the things. And not just boost stats. Provide buffs/special effects using them to attack in battle. Using (a sometimes bloody HUGE) combination of them to summon kickass dragons and gods, but watch out, that kills your stats for the next few turns and probably kicks you out of whatever class you were in and leaves you a sitting duck if you're not careful. And switching them around between characters creates literally HUNDREDS of class combinations it makes your head spin trying to decide what to make everyone. When I used to play it back in the day I just kept everyone as their default classes. Playing it again I regret that as I missed a HUGE CHUNK of what makes Golden Sun so great. Jenna looks like your typical spellcasting girl character, right? Well, how about you make her a fucking badass Ronin or Chaos Lord, give her a great weapon and let her tear shit up with that instead :D And the graphics. These games were a marvel on the Game Boy Advance. The way they managed to make the camera swoop around the battle field like that even though it was all just 2D sprites... just arrrgh I love these games so much xD

Everything about this game was epic, especially in the second game when the full story comes around and connects, shows that the bad guys background and leaves one hell of a ending that makes a perfect setup for a sequel. Mimu Mi The sequel was bad because it was as linear as the first part, however unlike the first part you had backwards walls keeping you off secrets you wanted to explore until MUCH later in the game and the plot was so obvious :( i wanted that exploration feeling the second part gave me, i wanted my beloved characters and instead i get their kids on a super lame and seemingly just flat out unimportant quest, with barely any connections to the old characters and loads of obvious plot devices.

I would love to see a character from Golden Sun representing in Nintendo's Smash Bro's game. Please everyone take a few moments and head over to the official website of Super Smash Bro's and vote for Isaac. Dark Dawn may have been a disaster with a weaker plot and soundtrack compared to the first two games in my opinion, but by getting Golden Sun more known, a 4th game can be created to redeem that failure. The first two games had music that rivaled Final Fantasy's soundtrack, plenty of interesting environments, and a good story line that left a huge impact on me. This is an underrated series that deserves more recognition as an rpg, and I hope that it obtains that.

The developer didn't actually say 'big fanbase'. He just said 'if there are enough people wanting another Golden Sun' or something. But it 's pretty similar. i.e. small fanbase usually equals little demand. Maybe they could release remakes of GS 1 and 2 to gather more fans.

It was back in 2001, I went to EVERY gaming shop in my city looking for a certain game but I couldn't find it, so I decided not to return empty handed and started grabbing random games and looking at the pictures in the back, one game caught my attention, I saw a cool detailed looking orange sword diving at an enemy, was like "wow this looks interesting" and I took the risk and bought it. Best decision I made in my life.

I remember first seeing a screen shot of the battle graphics in a Nintendo magazine and my little mind was blown 🤯🤯. I was obsessed about getting this game for months then finally got it for Christmas with the game boy advance in 2001. I had extremely high expectations made up and this game exceeded them .

Funny story about this vid. I've been watching Smooth McGroove's vids for a while, and came across this one. I listened to it and thought "Hey, this is a pretty nice theme." So I looked up the original and was pretty impressed. So I said to myself "The game seems interesting, I think I'll try it." This acapella alone got me interested in what is probably my most favorite game series of all time, and I'm glad that I gave it a chance instead of being stubborn.

Man what nostalgia...I think this was the first title i played for the game boy advance. Amazing game for its time, beautifully done, and your acapella for this is just beautiful. Probably one of the best RPG battle music themes made for a game imo. BTW loved the summons lol. Keep it up!

I just recently got it on the Wii U Virtual Console, i've been having a blast so far, not to many complaints other then maybe dialogue sections sometimes being pretty boring to read after a while, they seem to last forever, especially the beginning of the game. But otherwise a good game so far.

As cool as it would be, I don't think they would do it because they already have characters like Roy, Marth, Ike and kid icarus. Would be a bit of a risk having so many similar characters (apart from all of his djinn and his looks I suppose)

Charles080 As much as I'd like that to be real and the evidence is quite strong, I don't want to raise my hopes and see them dashed because nintendo forgot or didn't plan it in the end. But just the same, if it does get announced, I WILL remember what you just said and class you a Level 100 legendary class psychic ^^ But in all seriousness Nintendo has done some really mean moves. No mother 3 for us and then mother 1 and 2 finally go on the wii-shop. But still no mother 3. Nintendo could have planned something, or it could be a series of similar events, resulting in little much than what you see. :/

Right? Back when i was younger, my family would go roadtripping a lot and i would take my GBA everywhere to listen to the soundtrack or play the game. As much as I like Felix, I love Isaac much more and even their respective themes. When i beat the game, i felt happy but empty...no more Golden Sun. Even when first part ended in the Lemurian ship, that saddened me. I was sad cause i was wanted more and i missed them.
