Almost five years after the beginning of this project I now finally present the 50th and last Golden Sun video! Since the main theme comes in so many variations, I made a selection of my favorite ones and put them together as a medley, hope you like it!
My idea behind the particular order I arranged them in was that it should kinda represent the final events in the game [SPOILER WARNING]: After a happy return home, the heroes discover that Vale has been destroyed my Mt. Aleph. Thus the transition into the a-minor theme, which also starts playing at this point in the game. After this devastating event, it becomes clear that their families and the other villagers were warned beforehand and were able to evacuate in time. The great reunion scene is accompanied by a slightly slower version of the main theme with only strings and flute. In the second repetition I reintroduced the percussion and oboe, finishing the rest of the long version that was interrupted by the transition to a-minor. I also really wanted to include the drum and bass version which plays during the password screens, so I added it to the end as a bonus.
Since it would be awkward without any transitions, I had to, for once, violate my principle of never meddling with original compositions. I tried to modify as little as possible, but I still felt it was necessary to introduce a certain mood in order to set the stage for the following part. So I hope you find the transitions ok.
This Golden Sun project has been the main purpose of this channel, although I never expected myself to keep on until I had covered all of the (for me) most memorable tracks from the series. I still have a long list of other VGM that I'd like to cover in the same way though. But for now I have very limited time due to studies and everything, so even though this channel will never be completely dead, I will probably not upload a whole lot.
A big thanks to all of my subscribers, recent and old. All your comments, both unconditionally positive and constructive criticisms, are always highly appreciated, and they have provided lots of motivation to keep going with this project. I'm really sorry that I haven't been able to fulfill all of your requests or even reply to your questions (google+...). From now on there will be no more GS, but once in a while I might upload something from other classic RPGs like FFVI, Chrono Trigger, etc. I also plan to record more of the piano themes from The Sims 1. In the long run I might even compose and post some music of my own. So if you're interested in some of that, feel free to keep monitoring my uploads =)
