The best fighter in the NHL today. People talk s**t about him but the guy is as clean of a sportsman as they come. You won't see George stomping on someone's leg with his skate.

Merci pour cette vidéo. Thx for this video. Laraque est un exemple à suivre, à l'imagine de Jacquis Robinson et de Maurice Richard pour les Québécois. Laraque is an star, like Jacquie Robinson ; Maurice Richard has this role for the French Canadian in hockey league.

definitely. Don't think down on him just because he plays for the habs. I'm a bruins fan but I still like him. He has a lot of respect the game, the unwritten code of fighting, and other players.

@epsiona05 Laraque is definitely NOT a goon. He is an enforcer but a very clean fighter. he simply defends himself and his teammates. He reminds me of Nick Fotiu another clean fighter and never hits a guy when he is down. All my respect to Georges Laraque.

I played hockey for a white. I faced racism against opposing teams but never in mine. I just hope more black people start playing hockey. In sports today, the best guy will get drafted and play. Knowing people is usefully when going trough the amateurs or the minors, but today, i think that best man will play 99% of the time. The racism was always worse off the ice then on it for me.

I don't know if this is true or not. I played hockey against and with black players in my life and I never called them any names at all (you know...besides "asshole", "f__khead"...regular stuff like that. I never heard anyone get called that either. I think this might be the media making a little more out of this than what is there. Laraque is a tough S.O.B. though...nobody can take that away.

My brother plays hockey as well. He hears all the crap that Laraque is talking about in this vid. I myself played hockey a few years ago (and believe me, I heard the crap too), but my dad lost his job and I had to drop the sport. I simply don't get why some white people don't understand that we blacks have thoughts and feelings. We love, we hate, we despair, we hope. The only difference between us blacks and you whites is our color. I just don't get it and I suppose I never will.

One day hopefully we'll all just related to athletes as "good athletes...or "great athletes"....not white or black! But I guess this just shows that it's not a sport problem....it's a social problem that even sports can get away from. It's pretty sad when you think about it! I pray that things change.

I have witnessed white-on-black racism. I responded by fighting alongside the black person in each case. However, racism works both ways. I have been randomly jumped several times by black folks and recently lived in an apartment complex where every black person ignored my attempts at friendship. But you know what? I play no race card. The next black person I meet I will give a chance to regardless of how my last encounter went. PS. Just about every race, creed and color ever on the planet was victimized by prejudice. So, this is concerning but not unique to one particular peoples.
