Released on August 25th in 1997 Goldeneye 64 was a revolutionary first person shooter with awesome gameplay and an awesome soundtrack.
The goal of this remaster is to stay as true to the original as possible, we've based every track on original game midi to match every note perfectly. we even used sampled sounds ripped directly from the game as often as possible.
On a console that uses cartridges like the Nintendo 64 the team at Rare were limited to using midi for their music playback, with this project we've tried to update and modernize the music to make it sound as if the game was released today.
We've uploaded this on the 20th anniversary of the games realease as a way of celebrating it's legacy and to highlight the brilliance of Graeme Norgate, Grant Kirkhope and Robin Beanland work.

This isn't even the full song. this isnt echo-y enough.....the first melodic line should be "forward" in the mix and the repeat of that line should be an ambient echo. The original had an ambience that is absent in this version

I remember first playing this mission in Goldeneye and the first thing you see at the start is Trevelyan and i tried shooting him only to find out hes invincible in this mission because you can't kill him until the Cradle mission.

Prefer the original but not bad. Trying to understand why you would overpower the main groove with a constant theme but I guess everyone hears it differently. I just feel like you took out the the variety and made it more bland. Just my respectful take on it. Keep remastering.
