To change your Acer laptop's boot mode from Legacy (BIOS) to UEFI, follow these steps:
1. Access BIOS Settings:
Restart your Acer laptop.
During the boot process, press F2 (or Delete for some models) repeatedly until you enter the BIOS setup.
2. Navigate to the Boot Menu:
Once inside the BIOS setup, use the arrow keys to navigate.
Find the Boot or Boot Configuration section.
3. Change Boot Mode:
Look for the option that says Boot Mode or Boot Priority.
If it's set to Legacy, change it to UEFI. Use the arrow keys or the enter key to select and modify it.
4. Enable Secure Boot (optional):
Go to the Security or Boot tab.
Enable Secure Boot if required. Some systems need Secure Boot for UEFI to function properly.
5. Save Changes and Exit:
Press F10 to save changes and exit the BIOS. Confirm any prompts to save the new settings.
6. Reinstall Windows (if needed):
If your operating system was installed in Legacy mode, you may need to reinstall Windows to make it compatible with UEFI. Create a bootable USB drive with the Windows installation media and install it in UEFI mode.
