I've got some fond memories of these guys. One of the first kids I was assigned to help at work had a copy of Infernoid Tierra and wanted to build a deck around it so he could play the game with the other kids. Helping him build that Infernoid deck led to him being able to make friends and have something to look forward to at school.

Interesting thing to note about the Infernoids is that all of their Main Deck monsters (Except for Decatron) follow a Naming Theme (Which is different in the TCG and OCG due to more pointless censorship!): In the TCG the Infernoids are all named after Ordinal Numbers (First, Second, Third ectera) in various languages corrisponding to their Levels: Primais is Latvian for "First" Antra is Lithuanian for "Second" Harmadik is Hungarian for "Third" Patrulea is Romanian for "Fourth" Piaty is Polish for "Fifth" Sjette is Danish for "Sixth" Seitsemas is Finish for "Seventh" Attondel is Swedish for "Eighth" Devyaty is Russian for "Ninth" Onuncu is Turkish for "Tenth" In the OCG they're instead named after various Kabbalistic Demons (Proper names of the Demons are in brackets, no brackets means they got the name right): Primaris is Shaitan (Satan) Antra is Beelzebul (Beelzebub) Harmadik is Lucifugus (Lucifuge Rofocale) Patrulea is Astaroth Piaty is Asmodai (Asmodeus) Sjette is Belphegor Seitsemas is Ba'al (Baal) Attondel is Adramelech Devyaty is Lilith Onuncu is Nehemoth

I guess he Kabbalah part explains why the field spell included that tree in the field spell? I believe the Qlis were also named after some evil stuff in the Kabbalah.
@Matthias-pj6th
@Matthias-pj6th Жыл бұрын
@@nunyabiznes33 Yes, a major thing in the Kabbalah was the Sefirot (sometimes called the "Tree of Life") which Naturia's Sacred Tree and the Zefra use as their motif, meanwhile the Infernoids and Qliphort use the Qliphoth (AKA the "Tree of Death" and polar opposite of the Sefirot) as their motif.

I didn't get the intro reference, but I'm glad to finally learn more about the Infernoids. That said, I assume the significance of Level 8 is because it relates to infinity, which is the shape Infernoid Tierra's tail makes. I don't know if there's any lore tying Infernoids or the Void to infinity...other than the Infinity Void, but I don't think Konami is referencing Metroid Prime Hunters...though maybe they should...

ik this is a year old but im fairly sure they put the level and archtype name limit to keep from remaking the dragon rulers as none of the main monsters have hard once per turn effects as if you are able to get multiple copies of onuncu and devyaty it would be fairly hard to get over them. only like 3 of spell/traps have a hard once per turn. this isnt even counting the amount other plays mixed decks would be able to do with them as their summons are inherent meaning they dont start a chain. as for "why 8?" its so you can summon at least two or more of the 1-8 star infernoids they dont do enough if it was less and the boss monsters cant be summoned together without another card like a trap and/or deka its straight balance reasoning :b

My absolute favorite archetype. An entire bunch of basically final bosses for the whole Duel Terminal storyline that are all robotic demons that are the best users of my favorite Field Spell are so pleasant. Queue up some Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse music like the Divine Powers battle theme or Deicide and it's a recipe for amazement.
@Anthintendo
@Anthintendo 2 жыл бұрын
So this part of the Duel Terminal lore has always confused me, because it feels like a LOT of things happen all at the same time: after the Naturia Sacred Tree rises out of the ground (how did THAT happen, btw) the Qliphort emerge but are like the corrupted version of the energy the Yang Zing represent? And like, the Shaddolls and Infernoids awakening leads to the reincarnation of Sophia, which is up to the Zefra to stop because she’ll destroy the world, I think. EDIT: The “Muko” thing is funny, because that’s the original name. In fact, any kids who watched the English anime would recognize this card by that name because that’s what Ishizu called it. It was localized as “Null and Void” in the TCG.
@kitsunephantom6155
@kitsunephantom6155 2 жыл бұрын
I hope these were genuine questions because I have genuine answers lmfao 1.) Shaddolls were the first menace for this Duel Terminal - one of them made it past the guards of the Naturia Sacred Tree and activated the machinery in its roots, forcing it up into the air. The Sacred Tree is one half of a sort of life support system for the planet, and the machinery below is the second half. The Sacred Tree is the Sefiroth (Creation) and the machinery is the Qliphoth (Destruction). Once upon a time, this system was overseen by two gods - Sophia (Sefiroth) and Tierra (Qliphoth); however, Sophia sealed Tierra into the machinery. Sophia was defeated in previous Duel Terminal events, so now Tierra can regain its power and reemerge. Tierra can influence the Shaddolls indirectly. 2.) The Qliphorts are not inherently evil; they are machines programmed to uphold the life support system and initially were only fighting the Shaddolls, who the Qliphort recognized as dangerous abnormalities that needed to be contained or destroyed. However, when one Shaddoll in particular was absorbed for destruction, its power infected the Qliphort system, allowing Tierra to unleash the Infernoids from within them. Additionally, the Qliphort system's analysis of all life on the planet was skewed by Tierra, causing them to start a purification alongside the Infernoids' rampage. 3.) Sophia is already defeated, but Nekroz of Sophia appears, a spellcaster channeling Sophia's power to invoke the creation of the Zefra - basically 10 fighters get a power upgrade. The Zefra later fuse into Zefraath, the ultimate Zefra, to fight Tierra for several years ("a thousand days and a thousand nights"; 365 days in a year, so it's at least a 3 year-long battle). However, both of them simply disappear. Also the life support system is officially dead.

this is my all time favorite archetype. I love the flavor, the artstyle, the thematics, and the playstyle. Ever since I found your channel I've been waiting for your video on them. Can't wait for when you get to them in your history of duel terminal series. The hit to halq sadly hit them pretty badly. Ypu used to be able to get super easy otks by going halq for decatron and then linking into Equimax. Halq was also super useful as a bridge for more extensive plays by binning onw decatron and sending another. The 1 additional infernoid name was oftentimes relevant as material for your continued summons. As much as I hate to admit it, Infernoids are at the worst they've ever been right now. The hit to monster gate almost a year ago smashed their consistency, the hit to halq ruined their otks, and the prevalence of dd crow and dim shifter all but snuff put their main gameplan. It's really sad to see my favorite archetype pushed to the backs of obscurity. Still hoping for the lvl 12 tho

Lair Infernoid has been one of my favorite decks to run in Master Duel for quite some time. As it turns out, having three copies each of Monster Gate, and Reasoning, and Grass in a deck that has methods of interaction a lot of decks aren't prepared for can steal you quite a few wins.

I can only assume Source of Destruction wasn't mentioned because it's technically not an Infernoid card despite being related to Tierra and it's effects have no tie-ins to them either.
@joseftheerazor
@joseftheerazor 2 жыл бұрын
@@Matthias-pj6th I correct you on one thing. Their is a tie-in to their effects and summoning condition that has something in common. Infernoid Tierra: When this card is fusion summoned: you can, apply these effects, in sequence, based of the number of materials with diferent names used for this cards summoned: (In this case this effect) 10+: Each player send their entier hand to the GY. Tierra, Source of Destruction: Must be special summoned (from your hand) by shuffling 10 other cards with diferent names from you hand/or field into the deck and/or extra deck, and cannot be special summoned by other ways. So you see, their is a tie-in in each of her forms: 10 diferent named infernoids to dump their hands to the GY and 10 dierent named cards to reset the game. The point im getting here that each of them requiers 10 cards with diferent names (in this case infernoid tierra, if you want to use 10 )

I think the only able to add up to 8 thing is because of the cores in their card art and lore. There are only 8 cores from the Shaddolls left, so you can only slot up to 8 cores as each monster level represents a core required from the pool. The over level 9s I'm not sure about. But that's my take on it.
