LONG TERM COMMENTS Zero issues, loving this knobby. However I have seen a small number of riders say it didn't suit them if they ride in a lot of ruts as occasionally the extra width caused problems. Also, while most riders find it great in sand, very aggressive riders may not like how it tends to stay on top of the sand when cornering instead of digging in. It makes the front of the bike higher, almost everyone likes how it slows the steering down a bit on all dirt bikes. If you don't like this, you can always drop the forks through the triple clamps to get your old steering geometry back. I haven't heard of anyone doing this as yet.

Great vid again. Suggestion for an upcoming vid - a 250 vs 300 review. I'm in the "what to buy" dilemma. I decide on a 300 and then read some comments about the 250 then change my mind again. The both seem awesome bikes, but I have now recently been wondering if the 250 is a better bike for me. I'm 50, 6ft, 155 lbs and a relatively fit intermediate rider. I do like being on the pipe, but I'm also a tad afraid of the beastliness of a 300 and hear the 250 is a little tamer and less tiring on the trails. Again, all mixed reviews. And yes, I have seen your review between the 200, 250 and 300, but that was for pumpkins, so it doesn't count...

I've had a front all year. I've put ~60hrs on it in all sorts of conditions. Bloody amazing. some knobs have torn up and looks slightly worn but still keeps gripping. Just tried the rear. wow. lean angles and braking distances possible are amazing. maybe not the best on roots/rocks but after ~5hrs on inter/dry terrain the edges are only slightly worn. no tears yet. downsides are that Ive been used to being able to spin up the rear on command with my RM250. The mx32 makes my bike feel like I've no bottom end. also, the rear tyre was a bitch to fit.

This front tire review is all well and good but how are the aerodynamics in a wheelie? Seems very important to your riding style.
@crosstrainingenduro9 жыл бұрын
+J Sem the increased profile and resulting air resistance makes it easier to keep the front up, while the V-notched tread pattern allows the wheel to spin longer in the breeze and stay balanced through increased gyroscopic force.
normally i would feel violated when I unknowingly get my mind read by someone else, but in this case, i'll forgive you. Sorry must of missed that one thanks. I don't no what your view is on this, as well as the front end on this KTM exc 250 2 stroke 2010 being very skittish and has a mind of its own even with a full suspension spring and revalve to suit my weight, I have really notice that I can never feel the rear tyre digging in and pushing you along compared to all my other motocross bikes I have owned over my 50 years of riding ,it just seems spin along the top of the mud even with brand new FIM enduro tyres fitted and 8 psi , I tried out my mates CR 250 with same tyre and same pressure and same hill and his bike road straight up this muddy hill over tree routes and didn't spin up once compared to mine with lots more feeling from the rear end , I have come to think the problem with the KTM is there's no dog leg linkage on the rear suspension and monoshock just bolts straight on top of swinging arm pushing load onto the middle part of the tyre rim not the bottom part forcing the tyre into the ground,I'm going to buy a 2016 300 beta mid year when price goes down, also do you think you could you borrow a 2016 300 beta and do a test compared to your one and see if this new 2 stroke oil injection pump really dose give more cleaner usable power at low end as no pre mix damping the spark down, sorry for long message ,cheers.

Thanks for the review! And for all your videos for that matter! How was it fitting this tire with the tubliss system? You mentioned the MotoZ was easier, is that the case with this tire also? Does wider and taller mean easier or does the stiffer sidewall make it more difficult? Thanks again from an okay at best rider with a short memory and limited brain cells.
@crosstrainingenduro9 жыл бұрын
+Tory Wilson i thought it might be tricky to fit tory, so i left it in the sun fora while first so it softened up. it was certainly no harder to fit than other tires, and i have found the TUbliss is actually easier than the old way with tubes for some reason.

Hey buddy, I would like to point one that you have the front tire mounted incorrectly. If you pay close attention to the side where it specs the tire size.. there is an arrow showing you the direction of the spin. I have the same tire I made the mistake of installing it like you did and it was horrible compared to the proper way. The v shaped knopes need to be backwards for braking that's what I got from golden tyre them selves. Those tires are directional so pay attention buddy.

According to Goldentyre's website, the GT216 AA is DOT rated. That's not a priority for me. My EXC sees little pavement and the authorities aren't checking here in AK. But I realize that is important to a lot of riders.

I spent the last 4 hours trying to get the darn brand new front tire on and its impossible! The new gen tubliss has such a much thicker red carcass, the tire wont budge it. I get the tire bead on one side easy, then the last 6-8 inches of the final side the tire just wont stretch without damaging the tire. I have done the install exactly to the letter per the instructions and video. Everybody only shows a rear tire which is easier since the drop center part is wider than on a front tire. I can put the tire on with just a tube fine, but the red inner liner is just taking up too much room. The tire is a Golden Tyre GT216AA 90/100 . I never had this much trouble doing the rear tire, went right one, but I had the original tubliss. Anyone actually installed this with the tubliss that can offer pointers?
@crosstrainingenduro8 жыл бұрын
+dieselworld bummer, dieselworld. i'm possibly one of the world's worst tyre changers and even i managed to get the same GT tyre on to my beta with the TUbliss. i left the tyre in the sun for a while to soften it up. sorry i can't help but hopefully someone can.
@toadamine7 жыл бұрын
dieselworld leave the tire in the sun or near a heater, lube the bead with Vaseline, slides right on... I thought this tire was relatively easy to mount... you don't have to get the bead all the way into the center of the rim, you just have to wedge an iron between the bead and the rim and it should slide down enough if you do it all the way around as your finishing pulling the bead over

Oh, I am so tyred of hearing about tires! Not really, just wanted to drop that little comedic gem. LOL!! Last week that I pulled the trigger on a GT216 fatty and a Mountain Hybrid, and they are expensive here in the states. I could only find the GT at ZipTy racing; It was a whopping $120 plus $75 freight! Oofdah. ...I must want that tire bad! The Motoz I was able to find at Rocky Mountain ATV MC, one of my favorite suppliers. It was a more reasonable $99, freight another $60. All told front & rear cost $355 US delivered. ...The Bridgestone ED11 & Pirelli MT43 they replace cost $211 delivered! That's a $144 premium. Here's hoping they're worth it! What was that other video about Barry? Oh yes, mindless consumerism... LOL!! I sound like I'm complaining, and I am a little bit. I do of course blame you Mr. Morris. If it weren't for your glowing reviews, I could have saved $144! In truth though I'm grateful sir. I've become irritated with the (admittedly few, yet glaring...) shortcomings in the MT43's I've been running these last six years. I want to have a rear brake again! And with our fall rain (deluge) the leaf covered mud has not been an optimum condition for the MT43 either. I do know a conventional knobbie is not what I want. So I thank you Mr. Morris for subjecting your person and the Principessa as test subjects, and utilizing your considerable media skills to enlighten us once again.

+gncc1race lol yes i definitely feel guilty now. :) i'm shocked at how much goldentyre are charging over there, the fronts are only AUD$130 here and we regularly pay $100 for most fronts so it's not much more. but knowing the crazy low prices you guys are spoilt with it sounds like goldentyre is price gouging in the US? i'm wondering if i should put an annotation in the vid to that effect....
@gncc1race9 жыл бұрын
+CROSS TRAINING, ENDUROCROSS & ENDURO TECHNIQUES I don't know if I'd use that term exactly. It might be appropriate to warn of the high prices. We get most brand name tires so cheap because of the great volume here. North America is obviously the biggest single market in the world for dirt bike tires. The volume and the competition in that market delivers low prices. Goldentyre is new to this marketplace and has a tiny market share. They probably have only the most rudimentary distribution right now. ZipTy Racing is the only one carrying Goldentyre here as far as I could find. Until Goldentyre picks up in popularity and demand, prices are likely to remain high.

Why 60 freight from Rocky Mountain atv? I thought over 99$ free shipping?
@gncc1race9 жыл бұрын
I'm in Alaska... That's why. No free freight here. Or Hawaii. Or Puerto Rico! Freight can be brutal, and the shipping estimate (which is what they charge you) can be way off for some suppliers. ZipTy racing dinged me $75 freight for the Goldentyre I ordered. But they're the only ones in the US I could find who sell it. Online anyhow...
