Ramparts are great. the angry cinderblock that refuses to die and is happy to boost in and slap people around with its triple large slots. give ‘em heavy armor, thicc weapon mounts, and the armor/survivability AI skills and they’ll shrug off even a few reapers without slowing down.

Low-tech only was something I tried out as a joke after getting bored with high-tech. I wasn't prepared for what I was about to experience. Once you hop on a shield shunt Onslaught XIV and survive a whole minute of concentrated enemy firepower, you'll never look back.

@@matrex00 It's very capae with Eagles, Eradicators and Champions. Heavy Beam builds for Eagles amd Champions. Use Steady officers with Energy Weapons and Gunnery Implants. For Eradicators; Agressive officers with Ballistics Weapons and Point Defence. Mix and match other skills and what builds you like but I find this works best.

@@MFaiz-zm2qp just be a chad and use a Shrike with a Phase Lance and a Typhoon Reaper Launcher with 3 tac lasers in front and two LR PDL in the back. Missiles mod and the missiles perk from the skill tree and you have a 15 reaper monster that can act as a backstabber or be considered a high enough threat for the enemy to direct their shield towards you. If you want to use it as a support, medium harpoon MRMs with 3 small pulse lasers in front and a suppression beam with two normal PDs in the back. Or even better, a LP brawler with two assault chainguns and railguns.

@@Stein871 Oh yeah, Phase Lance shrike is a classic anti-derelict option, though I never liked the suppression shrike over the beam wolf as its plasma jets too often make it reach the frontline and get overwhelmed unlike the wolf phase skimmer which can move it into any direction, and yeah LP brawlers are still stupidly strong for their cost.

Low tech repairs generally eat up more supplies but are more flexible in how you want to use them. (If you want it to use less supplies for repairs just let them blow up and gain some d-mods.

It really depends on the ships, the smaller high tech ones are pretty expensive, and the bigger low tech ones require entire battalions and companies of crew to use.

Man, I really love the Atlas Mk2. It may be a trash can but putting big guns on a freighter and even giving it the accelerated ammo feeder has a certain charme to it. Certainly you can make them work somehow but I feel like they are so hard to come by.

The first step for those of you who have yet to learn to appreciate the Atlas Mk2 and ships of a similar caliber is to remember it has 2 large missile slots. Now put hurricane MIRVs on them.
