Alaina Johnson many of Goldfingers fans are German and I'm sure some English speaking fans speak German as well. Either way the German is meant to preserve the character the original song. Yes Nena did rewrite the song in English but in both Germany and English speaking countries the origional German is what caught the eye of the public. it's like asking why your cellphone has a picture of a land line when you make a call or why electric and luxury cars have engine noises played through speakers. It's a familiar medium for all and a call back to those who understand that.
