I agree that “Open Your Eyes” is their best. I love the songs “Happy”, the title track, “January”, “Spokesman”, “Youth”, and “Going Home”, “Tell Me”, “Decision”, and “Radio”. Just my opinion

My favourite albums of theirs are the 2 newest ones

I've listened since the 1st album, and I agree, start to finish, the last two are the most listenable. Though, obviously, other records have much better single tracks.

Never Look Back is pretty good all things considered, I think the super clean pop production is my biggest issue. Just not a fan.

J'attendais ce tier list depuis que j'ai découvert la chaine. J'ai la même vision qu'Elliot à part Hello destiny que je trouve meilleur que les deux dernier album de goldfinger.

I haven't really gotten into these guys for awhile but I know enough about their albums that I'll enjoy watching this later! Hang ups is my favorite for sure. I don't understand Feldman's modern day over polished production choices. For his own band or the other bands he produces. They have a newer song called "am I deaf" where he's talking about how people don't listen to real punk rock anymore over the poppiest punk song imaginable completely drenched in auto tune lol

Self-titled would be in my S tier, but I loved Open Your Eyes in my late teens.

I bought the first album just cause the cover looked cool and I LOVED that album! It is one of the most underrated punk albums of the 90's! I'd put it right up there with the classics! Hang Ups was kinda disappointing for me when it came out. I didn't hate it, but I agree with the one guy that like half the album is pretty great and half is just mid. The first one was mostly punk rock with a little ska. The second one was more ska and I didn't have a problem with that. But where the first one was upbeat, it was so depressing. Could almost call it a concept album of life after being dumped, lol! It was a let down after the first record for sure but still good! I like Stomping Ground and Open Your Eyes more than most, lol! They lost me at Disconnection Notice and just kept getting worse after that but I LOVE the collaboration with LTJ on the I Had Some Help cover!!!!

I only had 'Happy' from #OpenYourEyes thumbed. I don't even think I have ever listened to this album before. In fact, I missed several of their middle albums. (Getting married, having kids, etc). I have their first 2 albums. And again, have not listened to their latest album. I did listen to #TheKnife a fair bit and really liked that one... so I need to go back and visit some other albums. And yes, most albums could be trimmed a few songs for sure.

Thanks guys. I got to thumb a few I'd forgoteen about and quite a few new ones. I listen to the songs as you point out your favourites. Oddly, I had 7 songs thumbed on #TheKnife and not 'The Beacon'. :D (It is now).

Disconnection Notice at B is just insane. Even the band has played zero songs off that record basically since it came out

Its entire legacy at least to me is just being an album that you see frequently in videos about buying CDs at like Dollar Tree or Dollar General or wherever the fuck

I don't know if it's because I'm older and my first Goldfinger album was the self titled but to be the Knife and Never Lool Back are my favourites since Hangups. Stomping Grounds was ok. I can't even listen to the rest of the albums.

Never Look Back is probably some of their catchiest song writing since Open Your Eyes, I'll give it that.

The Knife is A tier, I'll agree it sounds like the skiba 182 albums but it's way better! Hang Ups is S for sure too

It was definitely an improvement over Hello Destiny.

Album review suggestion: would you miss it? By Koyo Pop punk on pure noise records

I know it's a cover record and closer to an EP than an LP, but Darrin's Coconut Ass is pretty bad ass!!!! It's better than anything from Disconnection Notice onward!

Wow. I really like #TheKnife. It has more of a 311 vibe, so if that is not your thing, I get it. Agree on the mix though. (Weird comparing to Blink albums - the 2 Skiba are on are completely different to each other).

Feldmann was 311’s main producer at the time so it makes sense that the album has that homogenous feel

I'm usually pretty lock step with AT LEAST someone but I'm kinda shocked how low you guys were on The Knife and Hello Destiny. I think they are both solid B's. Handjobs for Jesus is sweet... I don't really get the extreme hate. Maybe its because I like the hardcore/growl part so much that it clouds my memory but I think that is super fun. I don't care about the lyrics... there's been enough bands and comedians snarkily pissing on religion that this seems pedestrian lyrically, but I found the song fun. A Million Miles is incredible on the Knife and I'm surprised no one mentioned it. Best Blink182 song in a decade and I don't care that it's Goldfinger.

For me and my taste I would say that Stomping Ground and Open Your Eyes are my two S tiers by Goldfinger. Their first two records are definitely solid but outside of the singles I think they get rated a bit too high. Disconnection Notice (even though I like it) has to be their weakest album from top to bottom. Hello Destiny has better musicianship but lacks any real direction. The Knife is mostly front loaded with good songs outside of Beacon and See You Around. Finally I think Never Look Back was a solid release. I get the criticism here as it is a punk rock channel after all but I think it’s their best release since Open Your Eyes. I love the songs Infinite, Wallflower, California on My Mind, Good Guy and Cannonball. Overall I appreciate the video fan service for this band. I can’t say Goldfinger is an objectively good band but they’ve always struck a chord with me.

Idk man, to me, Handjobs for Jesus is an incredible song.

Other than the garbage production I can't disagree more with you guys about Never Look Back. I love that record, Wallflower and Infinite are two of the best GF songs they've released in a long time. I'd probably pop it in the B tier or maybe low A.

I listened to those first 4 songs on #HelloDestiny and they all sounded really good. I am too scared to go any further now :D
