@yoon-moon11894 жыл бұрын
Jade - A good quality sinking pellet and/or gel food, some live food every so often and veggies would be the best alternative. There are plenty of helpful videos and websites which will explain this in further detail but from my own research and experience I would say this is a good meal plan for goldfish.

Tyrell Johnson hardly. Fancies barely put on size after a year, let alone after two. Not sure if you’re generalizing from single tails but if you breed fancies you’ll be hard pressed to put much size on a fish after the first couple of years. By all means try, And report back to The Goldfish Council if you succeed. Likewise if any of these giants ever sees 8 years old I’ll love to see documentation

Blu Washington I would get a single blue gourami. I don’t think it will hurt the guppies and they stay smallish. They usually have vibrant colors because they are related to betta fish. That’s why you can’t get two. Or you could get a couple large mollies and have a live bearing tank. Mollies are more peaceful but you’ll need more than 1.

@Jamey Craig Could I start off with a 55g and move up to a 100g tank as time goes on if/when necessary?
@june-uni4 жыл бұрын
Beithir - my advice, and this will save you a heap of money in the long run - whatever you decide on, go bigger, then go bigger than that. If you give your fish an awesome space to swim it’ll flourish and watching a comet zip from one end of a large tank to another is something I can do all day. You can’t underestimate how big a comet can grow. Best of luck and hope you enjoy your fish 😀
@annethornton99384 жыл бұрын
Straight-tailed goldfish are little different from their carp ancestors in space requirements, and really only belong in ponds. They should get minimum 12", up to 18 or so inches long at maturity. You might be able to keep one in a 75 gallon, two in a 125 gallon, but not any smaller to give them the room they deserve. You'd need filtration rated _at least_ double that, as they are very messy feeders and poopers (they have very inefficient digestive systems), and they need large and frequent water changes. Yes, they are gorgeous fish with lots of personality, and can live 25+ years with proper care, but they really shouldn't be sold as beginner fish because of their actually requirements. Fancy goldfish (like the ones in the video) grow shorter (though wider), and so can fit in smaller tanks, 6-8" long usually at maturity, so you could keep 2 (_maybe_ 3) in a 55 gallon tank. Go for as big a tank as you can afford the money and room for right from the beginning (save up for a while if needs be), because it'll be cheaper, easier, and more certain to happen than saying you'll upgrade later down the line.
