Goldie were a British pop/rock band. They are best known for the hit single "Making Up Again", which reached Number 7 in the UK Singles Chart in July 1978 The single was released on the Bronze label with catalogue reference BRO 50, and the track spent 11 weeks in the chart Their lead vocalist was Peter McDonald.
The band, Goldie, was actually named after a type of bird. It can be assumed that Dave Black, founder of the band, was following an inspiration similar to one of his earlier combos, Kestrel, also named after another winged species.Prior to forming Goldie in 1976, Black had been touring with David Bowie's Spiders from Mars band. That connection may have been enough reason to label any subsequent Black product as glitter. The glib cheer of that genre is challenged by the fact that the b-side to "Making Up Again" was actually entitled "Time to Kill," perhaps suggesting an alternative solution to the same problem. The Goldie band stayed together for four years, appearing on television programs such as Top of the Pops. When the group broke up in 1980, Black went on to form 747 and play with the Brendan Healy Band.

Lyrics
You You touch my hand and I sing
You made me feel like a king
That's when I tell you I love you
But you, you don't believe what you see
You take your pain out on me
That's when we say it's all over
We're making up again
And we're breaking up again
Telling all your friends
we're back at home
Taking off again
Never gonna end
Telling all your friends
we're back at home
You You light me up I'm a flame
I turn you on just the same
That's when you tell me you need me
But you You said that I loved you wrong
Making you wait for too long
You say I don't really care
We're making up again
And we're breaking up again
Telling all your friends
we're back at home
Taking off again
Never gonna end
Telling all your friends
we're back at home
Tuning your looks,
forget that man again
If you change your mind
give me a sign
It's been a long long time
We're making up again
And we're breaking up again
Telling all your friends
we're back at home
Taking off again
Never gonna end
Telling all your friends
we're back at home
