All of this will eventually become the Blue line in 2022 Montclair to Downtown Long Beach

I remember this area in the early sixties when it was nothing but orange groves. My friends and I would ride our horses all day in any direction with no real sub-divisions per say. San Dimas/ La Verne, It was so beautiful then.........sigh........ Sure miss it.

Fabulous video; thanks for sharing. It's looking like I could take the light rail from my home in west LA to the LA County Fair! Amazing!

Absolutely! The Northern Pomona stop by Fulton road is right by my house. We live across from the North entrance into the Fairplex. I know two years ago they even did shuttles from the Metrolink station (Fulton Rd) from the train station into the Fariplex entrance area. Safe travels!

Since you’re already redesigning the corridor, why only grade separate the gold line tracks? Build bridges for the roadways over all of the rail lines.

From the looks of it that's going to be a tight fit to get trackage in for the Gold Line. It doesn't look like there's enough right-of-way to get in double tracks and have the BNSF railroad line (which will have to be moved) in there as well. Will the Gold Line be single tracked with passing sidings? Also, that line joins with the MetroLink trackage at the eastern end. How's that going to work (can't have Gold Line and MetroLink trains sharing the same trackage). Or can it?

The corridor will have space for two additional light rail tracks. We made a video showing how we'll relocate the freight and Metrolink systems to make room for the Gold Line: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJOml2ScqLVka9E

Is BNSF Going To Still Have The Pasadena Subdivision?
@Coldpurplerailfans2 ай бұрын
Yes, The Pasadena Subdivision Is owned by Metrolink, but it was handed over to LA metro for the work, they have begun train service again as well as high speed freight tests at 40 mph

Great views! I'll happily wait until far more detail can be shown before worrying about where parking and right-of-way will be. It's exciting to know that we'll have far more range in SoCal than ever!

Finally Metro is getting a clue and the trains will go over major intersections! I see bridges will be built at Garey, Towne, and Monte Vista, three major north/south streets!!!

Once the Gold Line reaches Montclair will they raise money to extend the line to San Bernadino and beyond?
@Cards81146 жыл бұрын
John Allen LA County Metro is only funding the APU/Citrus Station-Claremont Portion. San Bernardino County has only funded the Claremont-Montclair portion.

Why? So downtown Los Angeles' homeless can invade those towns too?

@@Cards8114 is going to be a long train. Montclair to long beach. The gold line becomes the blue line in 2022.

Never quite understood this section. Don't get me wrong; all new rail transit is good. However, this goes nowhere in particular other than low density, generic suburbs AND partially duplicates the San Bernardino Metrolink line. Why pay $7.25 for a one way ticket from Montclair to LA Union station when the Gold Line only charges $1.75 for the same trip? (Discounts for weekly and monthly passes are a bit less extreme but still are over 50%) The Gold Line might be slightly slower, maybe, but it also might be a one train trip if your destination is along the new Regional Connector stations in downtown Los Angeles (or anywhere further south where the current Blue Line runs, as the Connector connects the Blue Line and Gold Line into one train)? I can see massive ridership losses from the San Bernardino Metrolink line just transferring over to this, unless Metrolink drops their fares to match. This seems to be a case of merely "we own the right of way and nobody is going to sue us so let's build it". The money spent on this would be more productively used on things in LA's central core. Now, again, there's nothing really wrong with this, it's just kind of a waste of money.

wont this make metrolink san bernardino line kinda obsolete?

Metrolink is faster. Think of the Metro as a local vs. The Metrolink as an express line.

Anyone notice that by most of the future stations, land areas for parking has already been taken up by newly built apartment complexes? where will hundreds of people park their vehicles in the future? Go Metro anyway!
@pigjubby16 жыл бұрын
An aerial view is the best way to hide the homeless and crazies on this artery of homelessness from downtown Los Angles to all parts of the county. I was so enthusiastic about the rail system coming to town, now, I am back to my car. The Metro is dirty, scary and dangerous, as everyone rides for free with no control over who gets on. If your city planners are smart, they will NOT put a station in their city. Already homeless encampments are sprouting up in cites that have Gold Line stations.
