Yes, and it is a shame that the Needle Doctor, Jerry Raskin, closed his business. Now that he is gone I buy cartridges and replacement styli from other sources...

Hello Chris. Can I ask where you sourced the T5 belt you are using? I am working on a Studietto T5 combination for someone, and am having belt issues.

The standard belts always stretch if left on both pulleys, then the system faults and the arm lifts because the carriage cannot catch up with arm. The easy answer is to release the belt from one of the pulleys when not using the turntable, and that will stop it from stretching. The clear belt I had could be easily shortened because it was heat bonded somewhere along its length. First remove it and find the heat bond. Then cut out 1/4 inch or 5mm around the old heat bond. Then using an alcohol burner hold both ends close to the flame until they bubble and stick them together on a wood surface and hold the molten joint still for several minutes. Allow it to cool even longer then dress up and bulging with an Exacto knife. I shortened mine many times before I figured out to just release the tension at one pulley. The latest green belt is stippled urethane I buy in a roll, and make myself in the same manner to the length required. The urethane material is very low stretch and it obviates releasing tension when not in use. Great Turntable!

@@chrisfromri2892 Thanks for the tip! If you decide you'd like to sell a couple of your custom green belts, I'd be interested.

I am pleased to have been able to help a good ten people around the world get their Goldmund Studietto and T5 tonearm playing records again. Everyone that uses them likes my low-stretch Urethane belts! Several people needed assistance with power supply wiring diagrams, suspension modifications, folded acrylic dust covers, and even some small part fabrication - as the parts for these great turntables are no longer available.
