Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. This is what dogs do when their people leave for work for the day. They sit and watch the door and windows for them to come home. They do better when they are in a "pack"..... will the cattle become her pack??? So sad...... she is an awful ways away from the rest of the farm up there...... will she sleep up there too? All of your animals are wonderful. I am especially fond of the pigs, the cattle, and the weird, but royal, chickens. But Abby is by far my favorite. She is loving, smart, and energetic. And she really adores you, Morgan. You are the one who was the first to greet her when she arrived at your farm. You are the one who patiently trained her even when it was challenging. And you are the one she is looking for as she sits alone by the fence. She is looking for her dad.

My favourite part of Cat-Cam is when Ginny jumps easily & lands so softly, it’s like she can fly. (Not shown this time). Editor moment: you don’t bow in a curtsy, the closest you get is dropping your head or bobbing down & back up. The littlest goslings aren’t big enough to keep up, you had to rescue as least 5

Farms around me have 2 or more dogs working together. You have split yours up. Abby is watching you and Toby. Two working together are a pleasure to watch. When one is drawn to a predator, the other stays with the animals they are protecting. A Coyote is a clever animal. While one is drawing the dog, the others will come in from another direction.

I raised a lot of chickens in my childhood. I started at 8 years of age with 6 and by the time I was 18, I had 56 of them and eggs were so plentiful that I stopped selling them and was simply giving them away to friends and neighbors. Then I had to leave home to go to college and my younger brother after 6 months said he didn't want to care for them anymore; so we wound up giving them all away lock, stock and Barrel. I had mostly leghorns (about 45 of them; all were hens except for one noisy rooster) and Rhode Island Reds (about 6 of them) with an oddball barred Wyandotte and 2 White Rock hens. When I started raising hens for breeding I decided to try something new ( as I was getting a lot of Leghorns and a lot were roosters which eventually became scrawny coq au vin) and so I intentionally got a White Rock Rooster (that's why I also had the 2 hens as it was a package deal). Since the vast majority of my hens were Leghorns, the Leghorn-White Rock hybrid chicks that arrived were slightly more plump than their mothers but not so chunky as their father. One other thing was that Leghorn mothers are not that great as mothers go, so I would often lose chicks due to neglect. I had heard of White Jersey Giants and that their hens were great mothers so I really wanted to buy a few just before I was preparing for college but the timing wasn't on my side (especially since my brother wanted nothing more to do with chickens) so, that was that. I'm now in my '70's and I'll never be able to raise chickens anymore because (1) my wife and I live in an apartment now and despite owning a piece of vacant property (2) my village outlaws farm animals in residential areas. Perhaps since you've stated that you might want to pick up a few more chickens "Jersey Giants" might intrigue you? Read up on them I think you'll find them fascinating? P.S. I like the name Béatrixe for your heifer.

Thank you for the info on the weed wacker! I was really becoming interested in knowing more about it (brand, type, power, etc.) just as you started to give us the rundown! And I would love a garden video. I would like to know what you've been using as fertilizer/minerals. Which company/store you get your seeds from and which have been the most reliable over the years. What grows best versus what you like to eat and what you have grown every year. What type of pest control do you use and are the flowers involved in that or are they just "for pretty"? Raised bed or ground preferred and why? How often do you have to come in and remove weeds and do you think that is acerbated by the amount of wild growth outside the garden or wildlife. Coming from a country versus city perspective of farming what are the pros/cons? Have you had any issues with stealing/damage/loss and can you address this as both for your farm garden AND your previous city garden (yes, I know they're probably different culprits--but are they really)? And if Allison is embarrassed, I wouldn't mind if she just held a printed list of questions and went over them while in the garden plot and you filmed her, Morgan. She's a beautiful person inside and out, but I don't want her to feel put upon so even if she doesn't want to be on video, you can fill us in after talking to her.
