I'm just hearing about this proposed change by GC and Playdemic. I can't believe they're going to eliminate the overlay function - like Notebook for Android and Clash Caddie for IOS folks. I've spent more $$ on this game than any other game on IOS. They're shooting themselves in their foot IMHO. I may not continue to play... and stop spending $$.

You are so right... I've been trying to explain this to my clan members for so long that if they want a fair game it should be integrated in the app itself... It will be much more unfair when they ban the overlays... only super players will know how much to adjust and the rest including me will struggle... @@ash2rach2002 my point is that we are all at a disadvantage to the top players... and if there is a way to lvl the playing field I call that fair the fact that you use a device that doesn't support the app is a problem but that shouldn't be a reason to have more players at a disadvantage... and besides all that I'm for playdemic to incorporate these features in the app itself... which you gotta admit will be leveling the playing field

Zach....appreciate your opinion, however, not one mention about P.C players ? These overlay apps aren't available for the P.C. The Notebook website offers some great tips and advice , plus the wind chart creator . Android and Ios users still will have an advantage even after the changes come into force. P.C players are constantly overlooked.

The disconnect will suck. Nothing worst than my shot clock running and a large white bock saying my opponent is having connection issues. I don't care if he is and it should not be on my screen taking up time and view.

Zach, quickly something I wanted to ask. Would it be possible to make the wind arrow so when you adjust it (free movement) that it can be done from the tail instead of the arrow Head? Reason is, it is hard to see the arrow through your fingers which get in the way when adjusting it from the front. Or perhaps make it an option to choose either under settings. I hope this makes sense. Sorry I posted this here but I do not have email on this device to send in the suggestion through the notebook email address. Thanks for everything you do my friend. Jamie, you don't need to see through your fingers. You can slide your finger up on the screen off of the arrow as long as you don't release your finger. I typically remove my finger well off the arrow higher or lower on the screen for more precision upon releasing my finger

In the video i demonstrate 2 different features that are available within the OS that have no bearing on using an overlay. They are always available to you as things Android has created for multitasking

I was looking for the trick to double tap wind assist to get the calc in app; and then there's an icon in split screen mode that allows you to turn it into a badge. You know, I can’t use the overlays because I’m on iOS, but it doesn’t bother me that those on android can. I could put a physical crosshair sticker on my screen without them ever knowing, ffs - how could they ban that? I have notebook on my 2nd phone and enter the wind data there, then use the take shot button to measure my adjustment. It works fine.

Use a VM, I use VMOS PREMIUM ROOTED, that way you can run and create rooted apps. So install it in VMOS or whichever one you want and golf clash can't see it or detect it. But do not install golf clash in your virtual machine because there they will catch it.

Without the app, home players with printed wind charts & spreadsheets have advantage over me because I'm on the road so much. Without this app I can't compete so no reason to spend $ on GC anymore. But you're right, they can't block work arounds.

I use Xposed Framework to be able to run both at the sametime without disconnects. GO TO XDA TO LEARN HOW TO USE AS WELL AS ROOT WHICH EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO BY NOW.

I've removed the notebook app from Playstore dependency and removed licence verification. Hope that helps?

I only used the app cause i cant memorize all the club stats..never used the grids.and just used the take shot button...as of now play demic can count on me not spending any more cash on their game..the way i used the app was no different from someone writin down the club stats are those more blessed, memorizing them.

So there was an overlay for IPhone ? Ive played for quite a while but I’ve only played on IOS and never seen an overlay for iPhone . The fact android has an overlay with cross hairs to perfectly line up the shot gives android and PC players an advantage over anyone playing on IOS. Personally I’m glad they’re taking it out it evens the playing field for everyone and anyone who uses this feature as a crutch it’s going to show.

For you it’s not doing much and you users of the app don’t realize how big an advantage your overlay has on players that can’t have the exact same thing. I myself like your ring system but being an IOS user I can’t use the exact same method as your players I have to eyeball it. I don’t have cross hairs... I would love to have it but I can’t . For any gamer this should be frustrating. If it was equally fair then cool but it’s not and the disconnect method blows because it can cause you to totally disconnect so it’s not worth the risk. So I use the ring method but I’ve got my clubs memorized and it’s how I’ve played since I found these wind charts around the start of clans but like you said they’re gonna have to add it up in their head it’s how I’ve always played that to me is fair. It’s your brain vs mine not your 🧠 and an app support/mod vs my 🧠 you will obviously kick my ass but I’d rather be beat by your pure skill than some scrub using your app to be a pro. The app is out there they have the exact same ability to look at the chart and remember the numbers just like myself.

It’s the crosshairs that cause the issue. Maybe if you remove that feature from your app it would save some of this BS. Now we all have to suffer. I’m just going to use my iPhone along side my tablet. Problem solved. IOS is multitasking so not sure what they can do to stop that. Just makes it harder to play on the toilet.

I've said ti's before. I'll say it again there is more to this than pd are letting on... Pd controlling what other developers can do and can't do... I'm definitely sure.. Certain person has had a say in this banning the overlay coz he used clash caddie that caused disconnects.. And never has support zach in his app tool... I would seek legal advice zach.. They can't make us do what they want to do on our own devices we paid good money for them... And also given pd alot of money over the past 2 years.. I will not update notebook nor will I update golf clash from now on.... They will not get another dime off me

Good plan on ignoring Notebook update, but you can't ignore updating GC. It won't load when there's a REQUIRED update cause a lot of the program is online and needs to communicate with the app.

And the disconnect thing u might like, as oh well I win..is something that will make game suck ass. When I play someone who keeps disconnecting it makes me want to back out and forfeit. It's annoying and if it happens more and more I just quit playing, many more games to play. My only point is who cares about the overlay app?? Really?? Just people who lose and think others are cheating with overlay, and usually those not using app are using some sort of ring system from Zach, their just to cheap to support/pay for it by purchasing notebook app.

Do a search on KZbin and internet in general, there is real cheating going on with golf Clash besides overlay apps. What I consider unfair is me playing a tourney in pro or expert with my apoc 3 and some dude playing with an apoc 6 or 7...hole 1 of community cup tourny perfect example, as well as hole 4 etc etc.
