Golf Course Flyovers: The Best of 2017 - #5

This past year we managed to film flyovers of almost 1,000 holes of golf. We took a look at all the holes and decided to bring you guys the top 5 flyovers that we filmed this past year.
What was our rating methodology? We couldn’t really tell you. We picked flyovers that resonated with us. These five holes have overwhelming beauty and offer a unique challenge that you won’t find on many other holes.
Number 5!
Some of the first courses we filmed this year were in a golf community called Rotonda Golf and Country Club. If you zoom in on Google Maps near Port Charlotte, Florida, you’ll notice a neighborhood layed out in the shape of a perfect circle. This wagon wheel of a neighborhood is 3 miles in diameter, broken up into 8 sections and dispersed amongst them are 99 holes of golf. Yes, 99 holes of golf.
We were fortunate enough to film all 99 holes over the course of one week. One of those holes stood out to us and it’s the starting hole of their Pinemoor course. It’s a links style course with long waste bunkers lining the majority of the holes. Hole 1 forces golfers to tee off over water and find the narrow fairway. Miss the fairway left or right and you’ll find yourself in one of the two monster paralleling waste bunkers. The hole tightens up slightly as you approach the green.
This particular hole has an abundance of pine straw on the ground. And who doesn’t want their Phil Mickelson Augusta hole 13 moment off the pine straw!?
