Golf GTD - Diesel GTI any good?

Here in the UK the active info display, sat nav, and start stop are all standard. I can appreciate how rare that GTD is with those extras. It's quite similar to mine as I've got tungsten silver, pan roof, leather, dynaudio and reverse camera fitted as optional extras. I collected it on 7th March which is your upload date, so really cool to see this video!

Apologies for the late reply. Congratulations on your GTD. Best believe I am quite jealous. It is a fantastic vehicle. I’d be hard pressed deciding between Tungsten silver and White/Silver. How is it thus far?

@@thecarscene_ Thank you!! I spent months searching and had my heart set on "Isaac blue/dark iron blue" but it was hard to find one with good optional extras. I wasn't very keen on tungsten when I was just searching online but upon first viewing it grew on me immediately! I've done 3000 miles with it so far and it really is an enjoyable experience every time.

Great review, I'm thinking of getting one myself. I have read the sound in sport mode is produced by the sound system.

Dynamic Digital Creations yes, it an artificial sound, because it's a Diesel car you can't expect to have that sound from a Diesel engine. but it is really responding to accelerations wich make it sound real. but very very confortable car with a high quality

Now I am wondering why I never looked this way. The frugality of it, and the practicality are literally the two most important things for me in a car. too bad they discontinued it, and the ones that are available are quite highly priced (I guess depreciation did not kick in yet) great review Out of interest, if anyone sees this comment, what is the insurance like on these cars. I assume they'd fall into the GTI category and be considered high risk in south africa?

I always wanted a GTD, we only received it in 2017 here in SA. Its a nice cruiser though. Its scarce and now has been discontinued in SA.

It is quite scarce, but if you lucky enough you can find them sub R350k. Don’t let the continuity scare you, Vw will still offer service on the vehicle!

I prefer the look of the GTD. The TDI engine performs well in the Audi Q5, the Golf is substantially lighter so it will perform adequately

DCC is Dynamic Chassis Control - that's the adaptive dampeners you're setting the firmness on.

11:10 I don't know why VW hasn't added the Start/Stop to it, my 2019 Golf AllTrack 1.8TSI doesn't have it, my 2018 VW Passat GT 3.6 didn't have it but our 2019 Tiguan has it and so did the 2019 VW Atlas we had as a loaner. I'm actually glad my AllTrack doesn't have it, that is the 1st thing I turn off when I get into my wife's Tiguan.

here is what you do in USA/Canada. Find a Golf TDI-Highline and get it tuned by Kerma. u get exact same performance as a GTD. check my video

Hmmm I suppose buyers will most likely cross shop them, the biggest argument for me is rear wheel drive to be honest. It’s a tough one, but I’ll be driving off in the GTD any day
