I watched this video last Wednesday before I played a round of golf. Before playing I was on the range and doing this drill for 20 minutes. It felt weird at first but soon it was comfortable, and I could see a vast improvement in my swing. I played with a couple of guys that day who were half my age and pretty good golfers. On the first tee, my drive went for 265 with a nice baby draw right down the middle. Best drive of my life. That day I hit 12 out 14 fairways. Both misses were pull lefts. Both guys were always commenting how my drives were down the middle. My normal drives were 210-220 and to the right. This was the best video lesson I ever had. Thank you for posting this video and I look forward to seeing more of these in the future

Eric, I just wanted to say this is the single most helpful lesson I've ever watched on KZbin. I've practiced intensely for several years, but always struggled to put everything together. I re-created this lesson on my own at the range over the last few days. It didn't just fix my swing path, it somehow fixed my lower body movement, too. I have no idea why. But it somehow made me realize I was being too "technical ", with a million swing thoughts, and that I had forgotten to just make a nice, athletic motion with my swing. This drill really took things back to basics. I've never hit the ball better or more consistently. I'm regularly carrying 270 now, which before only happened when I really smoked it. I almost want to share a before and after video with you. Anyway, thanks!

@@CogornoGolf it actually fixed and possibly cured my slice after a month or two from just slicing. Inside out drill path and the key thing you said was turning/ twisting the club head as soon as the downswing. That made a huge difference! Also just proper wrist hinge. Thanks again!

Hi Eric. I really enjoy the lesson videos because it gives me ability to relate which funny enough is exactly what I was working on last week with my coach. I have the same issue with open face, out to in swing path which creates high spinning drive to right. This is great, first time I've seen this idea of lowering the plane on the downswing. My driver gives me nightmares, most fade out 40 yards, some straight, and some low shank left. Never know what I'm going to get.! I have noticed lately that my downswing takes the driver head about 3 inches further out so I try putting the toe by the ball to compensate, but I was thinking that lowering the plane was actually causing my problem (obviously not).

You have a great channel. Can you do a video with the snapping of the driver before impact. I've had trouble with my driver until Danny Maude who is also an amazing teacher with a great channel on here did a video on the driver and talked about snapping the driver. I've never heard anyone else talk about this. It changed how I hit my driver immensely. It gives power and helps close the club face. That along with supinating the right wrist really allows me to hit the ball with consistency and confidence. Would like to see you do a video on this.

If there's 1 thing that will help hit it straighter, it's having the right driver. Game improvement irons have offset heads to make it easier to square the face so doesn't it make sense that high handicappers should be using a driver with an offset head, especially for slicers? I don't slice too much but any is too many. I just switched to a Cobra with an offset head & no slices since. Those that would normally be a slice turn into a push instead. The offset also makes it easier to hit the club in the middle of the face which also adds a decent amount of distance. What I have to watch for now is a pull but it doesn't happen often. Obviously you still have to have a decent swing to begin with but the offset really makes a big difference. Not everyone can just go out & buy a new driver but consider this when you're ready to buy your next one.
