Thanks! This is yet something I've just added to completely do away with my shanking. A key for me is the knee actions, particularly bending the left knee forward on my backswing as I turn my hips back. That seems to enable me to then shift my weight to my left side and left heel on the downswing. I've always flexed my knees, but never worked them into the turns. Comment?

I really liked this video, but the one where you brought up early extension making the club steeper threw me off. So, should I have my wrist hinged coming into impact? I thought neutral on backswing and bowed if anything on the way down.
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott! " but the one where you brought up early extension making the club steeper threw me off. " I'm assuming by this you mean that it makes the shaft more vertical at impact? "So, should I have my wrist hinged coming into impact?" -There should still be SOME angle between lead arm and club....not a ton....but some for sure. Perhaps some of these videos will help clear this up for you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2XXnZWOoqyAqaM kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3nKq5qerseHjck kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5u7gYeedsRsp6M

Hey Eric! What if I cleared the hips like you mentioned and have an open clubface at P6, would I still have early extension or would the clearing of the hips somewhat close the clubface as I'm getting into impact? Thank you!
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jorge! If you face is too open A) Your brain won't let you open/pivot well B) You will either stall to square face, stand up to square face to flip....or some combination You want to fix face FIRST then pivot second. Figure out why its open and start there these may help kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmnbnayfn6qbY8k kzbin.info/www/bejne/g56ohoacnNKCbKc kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ-yfKdoqsifiNk

Does early extenders prefer to have the ball as close to their feets as possible. Is moving the ball further from the feets a way to stop early release/early extension?
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Could be.... Yes, usually if you early extend you would setup closer to the ball The risk with getting farther away, though, would be being too bent over at setup.....which cause an opposite reaction of you standing up later.... Best to neutralize distance from ball and fix EE directly for most!
@ss15974 жыл бұрын
It appears that early extension requires your irons lie to be more upright to offset the vertical shaft? Fix the early extension then get your lie angles adjusted? Great content.
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Thats definitely something to look at, yes! All else equal the more vertical the shaft the more upright the lie angle would need to be.

i struggle with "early extension" so much. It also cause me to sway and not turn. Your compliation video is the BEST as I don't have to go watch all the individual saved videos. Your instruction helps so much. However, I am a bit confused. To better hit draws, you indicated butt of club needed to be above belt buckle and forward press at address. Isn't that the opposite of keeping the club flatter in your video here ?
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
Hey John! Thanks for the message and kind words! No, no....feeling the shaft LOWER through impact is for those who OVER DO it......if you have TOO much EARLY EXTENSION.....the shaft gets TOO VERTICAL....higher than we want......so you get hooks instead of draws......so you want to feel it lower to it gets neutral! If you like the Early Extension stuff you would LOVE this: ericcogornogolf.podia.com/early-extension-master-class Best masterclass we have made so far!

Fantastic video. What I also noticed is that all of the body movements to achieve the ultimate force vector to hit the ball well also create the age old advice to "try to keep your head still". In this video, keeping the head still is an end result of good mechanics, as opposed to simply trying to keep the head still. Nonetheless, when I do focus on keeping my head still, many of the good mechanics seem to follow. I wish I could review this video before every shot I take!

I find if I improve takeaway, backswing top position downswing plane this early extension issue goes away automatically. It seems this early extension is something you get when your body try to make some compensating moves to correct for club shaft being on add position/plane. It’s kind a difficult to go and say I wanna fix early extension and try to fix that just one specific problem.
@CogornoGolf4 жыл бұрын
That's for sure, Dan! Lots of times issues pop up because of things that happen EARLIER that CAUSE them. Not always, though. Sometimes you can also reverse engineer things. Hope you get your individual pieces sorted as you mention and find what works best for you!
