Hey GenerationGapGaming just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed your channel. As a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s I was a NES then a SEGA kid I still love those two systems my two favorite consoles of all time. My favorite sega game as a kid was greatest heavyweights not sure if you’ve ever played or done a video on that one but it’s a great boxing game. But thanks for all of your great content in these stressful times we live in it’s so nice to get nostalgic for the most classic greatest games of all time watching your videos are a great stress reliever.

Comment? I'l give ya a comment alright! Thanks for making this because I've been working slowly over the years on Wikipedia's article for it and you prompted me to add two more citations. I cited Mario Mania: Nintendo Player's Guide and the Ossan interview. Also uhh no, those aren't two people named Mario and Ossan, they're obviously two incarnations of Mario lol. Such is the efficiency of Iwata's programming. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golf_(1984_video_game)

YES!!!!! Another new review. I love this guy. I liked the Nes Golf game. Did you know Golf is on Nintendo Switch? There's a little trick you need to do and you can get it to appear but only if your console hasn't been updated it has to be an old Nintendo switch.

This may sound weird to everyone else, but I loved getting my ball either in OB ("out of bounds") or into the water ("water hazard"). I also loved to see how high I could get my score. My only complaint is that the number of shots on each hole peaks at 99, no matter how many more shots I can take (with the help of going "OB" or into the "Water Hazard" many, *MANY* times). I love the low-tone *BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!* sound effects, along with the rest of the sounds.

Also, I must be one of the very few who is so glad that modern games have the option to turn off the music because it gets on my nerves. I never even thought about their not being music in Golf, but as an adult, it makes sense (concentration is supposedly more important for hitting a ball that isn't moving than in any other sport lol).

At least your grandad tried to get you an NES game lol.

Oh man this looks exactly like a prequel to NES Open. Even the SUPER SHOT tip is the same.
@GenerationGapGaming3 жыл бұрын
It definitely was a prequel to it. Same people were responsible for its creation.

I remember playing this and the baseball one.. great vídeo... By the way the baseball game had a glitch whenever you was the pitcher you throw to second base without anyone being there and you give the opposite team an out
@GenerationGapGaming3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that baseball glitch was nuts lol

Very awesome video Tyler. Maybe you can do one of the games from the Wizards & Warriors series

Thank you Tony. Wizards and Warriors is 100% on my list of games to cover one day!

Hi. Great video as always. I enjoy your enthusiasm and passion for gaming. I don't know if this was meant to be an Easter egg or not but i saw a young Tyler on 1 of the golf balls.

Really happy you enjoyed it and yes that was Mullet Boy that you found. I hide him in the videos for people to find lol

Ive got my Nintendo NES Ice Climber bundle with Super Mario Bros on top of that christmas 1987, and just 1 month and a week later my dads Birthday is 2nd February So we got Golf for him in birthday present (well my mom did) Cause both mom and dad plays golf so that was the perfect gift ^^ But he only played it a few times. And the console was in my room so naturally it was just added to mine collection =) I was born 1981 so I was just 7 at the time. Still have the boxes for both the console and my childhood games I value them above rare games like Mr Gimmick and Flintstones 2 etc etc in my collection =)

My dad definitely played it and he held the controller vertically. He was really good at it too.

3:02 did you want me to tell him... Put more hardware in the cartridge. All that empty space, you could add several more courses if you filled it with more hardware

This was so well done! I to this day have never played the game. My first golf game was Mario Golf 64 followed by the Tiger Woods series on playstation. How the heck did you learn about Captain Rainbow? That is some awesome detective work!
@GenerationGapGaming3 жыл бұрын
Dude I love Mario Golf too. I played a few of the early Tiger Woods games too and I loved them. I thought the Captain Rainbow subject was fascinating. Very cool game concept in general to where you can interact with a lot of "one hit wonder" characters from Nintendo games.

The thing that blows my mind about this game is that there are people out there that have posted speedrun videos. The slowest most chill title on the console has speed runs.
@GenerationGapGaming3 жыл бұрын
I know right lol. The speedruns are quite impressive too.

@@GenerationGapGaming Question, I gave a tip about an N64 cart to keep your game down in your broken NES. Have you ever taken apart your NES? Because if so there could be part not be tabbed in correctly to the NES board. I can't remember if I shared this with you kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnOxg4yFnqhraZo When I boiled my pin connector on my NES (I recommend that too), after putting it back together, mine wouldn't stay down too, and this video helped assess the issue and it is now fixed. Hope this helps.

I never played this but I play NES open all the time on the switch. I never really liked the game when I was younger but I like the strategy of the game now.

Now I didn't play NES Open much back then either. Honestly just picked it up a few years ago for collection purposes lol. I need to give it a go

My dad was into golf games like Leaderboard Golf on commodore64. I'm surprised we did not own this back in the day. It was one I would always see at friends houses though, this and top gun...two dad games for sure

Leaderboard Golf on the C64 is awesome and better than NES Golf. I still find NES Golf fun though and still play both games to this day.
