Hard to not root for Rickie Fowler and this video makes it harder. Such a good disposition. Interesting to learn he switched to the regular TP5. I found the TP5x pix to be tough to control for my amateur swing. Can't wait to see all these pros again in Cromwell!

This is absolute Gold! I have been beating balls lately, really trying to improve my swing in a couple ways, and to see Ricky have similar struggles to the average golfer is just… I don’t know what to say. I look for the videos where pro golfers make mistakes. It sounds crazy, but it’s the most helpful. “It’s not how good you hit it, it’s how bad are the misses”

at this point i believe a peak level coach like butch harmon can have more of a mental function - a role of a mentor. of course he has the top-tier knowledge about golf swings and because of that he will be able to get into a deep and profound conversation about your swing but what he seems to be doing most is to reaffirm rickie with what he knows he can do. so much subtle guiding towards a certain success-promising midset - masterclass!

Something people need to learn is that spinnier balls means spinnier in all directions, so it makes the ball more workable and less controlled in a sense. Most would be better with lower spinning ball with higher spinning clubs to impart backspin specifically on the ball. Fowler obviously likes working the ball and can control it, but the left dash prov1xs the best ball for most. Also a double cross is like a hook when you’re trying to fade it, not a hook when you’re trying to draw it.

@@cutoverpark9596 Different ways of feeling it. I like Rickie's description - controlled 100% and you feel like you give it 110% if you have to. Look at Rory or Rahm. Their swings are pure controlled aggression with very little left to give. Rory is hitting 185-190mph ball speed every time. It's not like he can get it to 200+ at will and keep it in play, The most I ever see these guys max ball speed go up is a couple mph. That tells me they are swinging pretty much 100% every time.

Rickie seems to have lost his fire for some reason. He's always been under control, but he seems disinterested these days. Maybe too much success in early life? Now he's getting a bit soft? There is no player on tour that I'd rather see become a contender again than Rickie. What Rickie needs is some of Tiger's "take no prisoners" attitude.
