Parker is next level. I’ve had a severe case of the chipping yips for 8 years. I’m convinced it was due to my attempts to make precise ball contact. Totally unnecessary. Once I learned to reduce my wrist hinge, shallow the club and use my body rotation to move the club I climbed my way out of hell. Still jab once in awhile but I 100 percent know why. Thank you Chef.

This one video has certainly made a big difference for me. Mid to high singles, but with a solid short game I find this has helped in countless tight spots around the green where once I would have been much more nervous, especially into the grain. I'm also now using my SW more where I may have used my 60 before. Much better control and no more anxious tension. Many thanks - Dave

This are great videos and you actually end up explaining it in the second half of the video, but a little context to begin the video would be super helpful like "x yards off the green and have x feet to the pin" and can use this shot for up to 50 yds.

I play in the Uk and the shot we have to over come is a tight lie on wet mud. Does this approach need adjusting for a wet mud lie?

Have been working on only this for 2+ yrs, finally making some headway (overcoming the white knuckles and getting some tempo is a big step). One thing I've found with the shallow arc is that if I'm swinging with connected body rotation, the shallow and around backswing is getting some poor contact results where a slightly straighter back swing is producing consistent crisp contact. Seems perhaps there is such a thing as a back swing thats too shallow. I also feel I have to fight a tendency to drop the club to the inside, perhaps a hold over from the full swing.

I’ve been seriously struggling with my shortgame, every videos been advising to keep the club out the hands etc I can’t believe how consistent this was. I felt like my arms were extremely close to my body but it worked time and time again. From small shots over a bunker to roughly 90/100 yard pitches. Playing tomorrow so will be interesting to see how I get on. Cheers

A few comments about this: - Fantastic instruction, using the bounce with spin loft - Lots of tour players DON'T use this technique. They play a cut with a steep AoA. - Scheffler, Day, Spieth are the highest profile exponents of this technique - This technique is great when hitting with the grain but not into the grain

One thing that is not being explained very well in the beginning of the video is what you are trying to accomplish what is the total yardage of the chip how far off the green etc. Eventually you see when the angle changes what the player is faced with. The explanation of the motion is great but it would also help to understand the total distance to the hole and how far you are carrying the ball

At 5:53 Parker points to the right arm or lat and says something like now feel like this… what was he going to say? Looks like that thought was what fixed the steep action.
@KCook2
@KCook2 2 ай бұрын
I think what he was going to say was feel like this stays connected. Meaning his right arm shouldn’t get disconnected from his torso too much. I think that’s what he was getting at a bit in the seconds leading up to it as well.

@BooserBoi
@BooserBoi Жыл бұрын
If you hit a huge hook or slice, but you always aim for it and hit the fairway, you wouldn't want to straighten that out to add 20+ yards to your drive? Why would you not want the same in your short game? More ball spin, more consistency, and it bleeds into other shots. You're never "done" working on your golf swing.
@annefilippobertozzi7601
@annefilippobertozzi7601 Жыл бұрын
@@BooserBoi if I'd hit always the fairway, i would never, ever change my swing to gain some yards. Especially as an amateur, who wouldn't have the time to put in all the work for a successful swing change, and would be caught in no man's land when the pressure will go up, down the stretch of a tournament. Same for the short game: i would better learn to control my distances with the swing i have (unless this would be inconsistent, leading to fat and thins).
