I’m not a big sim player, but the sim improvements look great. I’m mostly interested in the target setting on the range. Based on your video, it looks nice, but I’d still like to see something like the E6 target practice, especially the short stuff, where you have target greens with hazards. Even better would be some games like Garmin or Awesome Golf, especially for a $200/year subscription fee. But what you’ve shown is an improvement. I still have 8-9 months before my free subscription runs out. Rapsodo will have to make quite a few more improvements to get my $200, though.

Glad they are pushing alot of updates. Graphics was a big one for me. Would love to see a web interface for the machine for both managing past sessions and easier HDMI output. Also can use the PC's graphics to offload the work, same as Awesome Golf. Seems like a no brainer to me

Well I have to say I'm impressed. I was a naysayer with the graphics and having to pay for something that you would never use. Now I may have to rethink it. I'm still not happy about the subscription to unlock the spin but now at least you are getting some for your money. I'm still on the fence but I could see getting one now.

had one of these since release - this is the best improvement to date - ball still doesn't show ground effect of spin (e.g. hit a 10k spinny wedge shot and it will still roll out)

I will never ever care about Sim putting, but I would love if they could work on some enhancements for when the ball hits the green/chipping as well that incorporate the launch/spin data. Once the ball hits the ground it always reacts the same.

Day 14 of commenting on every video of the best golf channel on youtube has ever posted asking to hopefully get sent the golf sim for christmas whoop whoop! Hey man I’m a 19 year old kid as of yesterday who’s currently just figuring out adulting living on my own etc. I got into golf at the end of my last year of highschool but going into the spring i got into a very bad car accident and had to get surgery on my shoulder. I’m just now coming out of all of the recovery and going into my adulthood with more time and less prior engagements living on my own i’m wanting to take golf more seriously. This would help so much giving me a good alternative to playing on a course with how much it cost to play. I hope you all would consider it if you don’t believe my story i would be more than happy to throw in anything that helps show you guys it checks out. I love your guys content. Keep up the good work it’s super inspiring too see what you guys have accomplished god bless!! Ps I would put this in the place i’m renting’s garage!!

what is your experience using the MLM2 Pro with range balls in your indoor simulator? I'm getting inaccurate numbers. PW carry 135, club speed 76, ball speed 87. I have my distance to net and to the unit setup as it should be.

Can I play the courses if I am down the range? what does it do give you a set line to target for a straight shot, and then just move the line on screen like you would on toptracer?

As someone who returned a pre ordered mlm due to connectivity issues and uncertainty on future improvements, it really is a good launch monitor - especially for the price. Sim still looks bad to me but the range is way better. I think it’s a great option if you aren’t looking to drop thousands and it makes indoor training 100% more fun. Still looking for what launch monitor I will purchase next.

I am a garmin user and thought about getting the MLM2Pro but I use GS pro and MLM2pro looks like a nightmare to sync up, has lots of communication issues and suffers from no read chips like the garmin does. Im staying put for now and looking to 2024 for the next affordable option

I think they fixed that in the last release. Since I had already entered my clubs, I had no need to test it, but I seem to recall reading something about it.

Thanks for the overview, guys. Love the new range as the Singapore skyline is amazing. Having elevation is good too - but honestly if I’m doing sim golf, I’ll play E6. Overall, I love the improvements and it’s a great unit for the price.

You need the Premium subscription in order to access Rapsodo simulation, so if your subscription expires you will no longer have access to Rapsodo sim courses.

The device (MLM2Pro) is paired to the Rapsodo app on a tablet or a phone. That device is then connected to the projector to cast the phone/tablet's image onto the screen.

I agree they are getting better, but still a long way from pulling me away from e6 or Awesome Golf. Rapsodo's graphics are improving, but the elevations still look a bit goofy, as do the surrounding landscapes. It still doesn't feel like you're looking at Pebble or Augusta, etc. I also hate their ball physics, especially when the ball hits the green. I'm not a software guy, but it doesn't seem too much to ask for long clubs to roll out and short irons to stop/backup depending on the spin, landing angle, slope, etc. I do like the range a little more and it makes it faster for me to setup and start practicing, so I suspect I'll use that more often, although the 3rd party ranges and games are still better. I hope they keep improving so that someday I only use e6 and Awesome Golf for a change of pace.

its still too low poly, which as someone whos a 3d modeler in the industry, polygon count shouldn't be a difficult thing to increase imo. so hopefully they add high poly models

Question How does one change the target position defined in simulation play? I am using the beta version with an android tablet and i cannot change the aim point. This a bit annoying, since the se ond shot is always aimed at the flag.. .

Ya it's basically useless for the sim mode.. I personally only use the native app to warm up, then go right to E6 for my sim rounds. Would be awesome if they actually made their courses half decent so we have more courses/options to play. This video shows they're going in the right direction which is promising, but still not there with the unreal ball physics. I also wish it was a little more consistent.. I use my exact same set up every time and every now and then I have rounds with multiple no reads on full swings with good strikes. This even happens throughout the same sim session. Gets frustrating after awhile so hopefully they resolve that issue too (if possible).

I have to say these are the worst graphics I have ever seen on a sim. Looks like the golf games from Gameboy 25 years ago. The elevation looks way to extreme in a lot of locations. Would definitely be worth paying for E6 or if TGC can work with this one like skytrak.

I have good news for you as a 3d modeler, those are extremely easy to fix. Its just a lack of polygons and texture maps.

​@@jeffyboi6969 I am also a civil designer. They have a lot more issues than just changing the amount of data points to increase the smoothness. With today's technology they shouldn't be worried about the file size. Having a 2:1 slope in the middle of the Fairway is not exactly how it's done haha.

@@nomorenonsense Exactly I'm not quite sure why they have such a lack of polygons, especially when ball movement is going to be dictated by the smoothness of the ground. It makes no sense, The program doesn't seem to be graphics intensive. But idk. Id rather have less courses with better graphics than hundreds of courses with absolute garbage graphics.

@@jeffyboi6969 yes its very odd they seem to need to keep things down to like 100mb. The best Sims I play on use The golf club 2019. That has like 30,000 courses at the click of a button with very good courses. Even some Lidar courses on there too.

Has anyone had issues with Drivers or Woods not registering correctly? It seems as if the irons are very accurate. However, when teeing up driver, my distances are definitely not correct. 220 carries and most of the time, not registering at all. I am not coming in here saying I’m a professional golfer or belong on the long drive tour, but I do know for a fact I carry 305 on other sims such as track man or foresight. Any feedback would be great! Thanks in advance!

Has anybody tried marking golf balls like the special chrome soft ones to see if it will read spin?

Yes. I printed off a 3d shell and drilled holes at the same placed as the original balls. I used a black permanent marker and they worked just like the original chrome soft. There are a lot of sellers of these now on eBay so you can use any ball.
