Take Mr Barlow up the M62 to Willow Valley and play it off the blues Liam. Only an hour up the road for you, I think you'd score pretty well, 80 ish would be a solid round.

My daughter Elexis who sadly passed away in August at the age of 13 year's old 😥 This is her home club and was a single figer handicap player off 8. She loved this place the club and courses. Elexis favourite hole was the 12th par 3 SI 18 but as you can see from this video its not easy at all. She would always say the Bracken course next door was harder than the Hotckin. People need to experience this special place just like my daughter did 🙏👍

Nice! I for one would LOVE to see some solo golf outings like this featuring Mr. Barlow, Stu, and eBay Pete. Lee and Liam seem to up their game when they play solo (and OMP plays well no matter what!), but I don't think we've really got to see Mr. Barlow, Stuart, or Pete play "serious" golf against themselves in solo outing videos. It'd be interesting to see if they too play better (or worse) when not playing for a fiver. Also, with Halloween coming soon, I'd love to see a costume party golf outing in October! You could even decorate the balls (orange jack o' lantern, white ghost with black eyes and mouth, green frankenstein, red vampire, etc...).

Absolutely fabulous video. Superb course management, particularly impressive how you kept your head when things went badly, you didn’t start chasing the score but kept playing your own game. This is a great lesson for all of us. Once again your enthusiasm for the game is completely infectious. What an achievement to shoot 80 on that course! Did anyone else notice that the scorecard has a 36 written at the end of the front nine? (It was actually 37, and is shown correctly at the bottom of the card. Apologies for my OCD!)

I really enjoyed every shot with you, yes I would have played at least 10 shots more than you because of my skill level, but I loved the emotional journey you went through and the lessons learned, stay calm after the bad shots, think calmly about every shot and make the best of the next decision, and keep grinding. That's how you turn a 100 into a 90 or a 90 into an 80. Well done! Loved it!

I played Woodhall Spa about 37 year ago, and was in at least 1 bunker on each hole, I should have took a bucket and spade instead of clubs, I packed in playing shortly after that. It was a boiling hot day and Willie Thorn, the snooker player was there the same day. I would like to go back and play it again. Great round Liam.

Oh man it’s an awesome track! One of my all time favourites, but would say it’s fair and scoreable if you play well. For me slope rating isn’t the best measure for difficulty, course rating is. Slope just shows me how much more difficult it is for 18 handicappers compared to a scratch golfer. Course rating shows how difficult it is for everyone regardless of ability. Great video as always though! 👍

Easily my favorite course in England! Was fortunate to play it many many moons ago (15 yrs ago) with my dad… both our favorite course!! We still talk about the bunkers after all these years. What a place!!!!

Was a member there 1975/78 whilst stationed at RAF Coningsby just down the road. They seem to have taken out a lot of gorse but the bunkers are as deep as ever, great track, even managed to leave with a nine handicap.

Great round Liam, I am a member at Woodhall, and after your front 9 I thought you might even shoot close to par, I find the front 9 much harder than the back 9. The latter has scoring opportunities with a couple of short par 5s, but the stretch from hole 3-9 is extremely difficult as it often plays into the wind, you played those holes especially well. It is a course that you have to manage your way round, as one mistake can cost multiple shots.

To liam, my name is Paul and some mates and I used to play there every march , unlike you we were mid to high handicappers and when we dropped in those bunkers it was a 10 just to get out . SO YOU ARE DOING EXSTREAMLY WELL UP TO NOW KEEP IT UP . DID YOU STOP IN THE PETWOOD HOTEL, IT HAD THE LAST BOUNCING BOMB THERE ( DAMBUSTERS ) A PILOTS BAR WITH PARTS OF AIRCRAFT BEHIND IT . Great card. Phenomenal golf around there. That place is tough, anyone who has not played it, stick it on their bucket list. Great little town, bars and restaurants with Dam Busters history. Barlow would be 110 plus.

A magnificent front 9 Liam. Your thought process was spot on. Swinging the club brilliantly and concentration levels couldn’t have been better. Then you thought you had it cracked! As a result a bad start to the back 9, purely down I think to the complete opposite of what you’d done earlier. That said. Great effort and a pleasure to watch this video. I’ve played the Hotchkin course four times and it is truly a delight.

When I watch this video again Liam this is very much like qhen I played rocklifee from the whites 6900 yards bunkers everywhere water and rough. These courses are not designed for players like us but we can always give them a dam go and see if we can get the better of them. Always great to play hard courses that you know are going to push every asset of your game.
