I believe QH is the venue for a major next year, not sure if it's US Open or PGA, but if Rory can't end his major drought then at QH then it's never going to happen. Tomorrow will be about who can choke the hardest between Xander and Rory, I see Xander winning the choke battle and finishing tied 4th, Rory will hold out for the win here at QH and peak 1 week before a major once again and come up short at Valhalla, I'll say top 10 finish but barely, 10th 9th or 8th.

Would love to see Rory win at Quail. Rory left a couple out there on 7 and 8 today. Xander cant afford another 2nd. Will be great to watch.

I think Sungae Im who is -8 and Sepp Straka who is -7 might have a chance. All eyes rightfully so will be on Day 2 of match play between Xander and Rory. Xander is lucky to be -12 considering how he sorta cheated his way to a par on the 8th. Johnson Wagner recreated that shot on PGA Tour on X and got it on the green no problem from the 2 clublength rule if Xander said he couldnt hit the shot track system. -4 was the round of the day. I think it will come down to how that course is set up for the final round

Sungjae definitely has a chance. Xander always chokes on Sunday. If Xander starts to play bad, and it affects Rory, Sunjgjae could sneak in there. Xander also plays very slowly. That's going to grate on Rory's nerves. I find it funny Greg says Sungjae has no chance "based on who's up there", when Xander is literally the poster boy for not getting it done in tournaments! lol Nobody thought Hideki had a chance when he came back from way behind to win a couple months ago. I already have Rory, but I'm putting a bet on Sungjae, and maybe even Straka. If Xander collapses, as he's prone to do, he could take Rory with him. Rory's also prone to struggling with his putting. I don't think you can give either of these guys the title just yet. And Straka's not afraid of these big name guys, like so many are. To him, they're just two other dudes. Xander plays par golf on Sundays. He always plays it safe and takes no risks. That's what he's ways done, his entire career. I don't expect that to change just because he's paired with Rory.

Yep on a course where they can shoot 4 under or 5 over, 4 shots off is a chance. The only thing against IM was the number of lucky shots he made today, unlikely to repeat that. Yep Xander will be the usual conservative, and Rory trying to control his attacking nature, will be really good to watch.

I'll be surprised if McElroy follows a great round with another great round.
