God, I miss this show SOO much! As a pre-teen to my late teens, i used to watch the Golf Channel 24/7.

I have so many of these shows on tape 📼 from the late 90s, early 00s. From Jim McLean, David Ledbetter, Dave Pelz, Paul Runyan, Butch Harmon, etc. I was introduced to Harvey Penick and Moe Norman during this era of TGC. Truly an era for those who wanted to educate themselves about the game and history. Today, I don't know what they're doing.

Goddammn golf channel used to have some serious quality content like this without all the bells and whistles. Just incredible information from the best. Idk what original programming they're running now.

What Butch talked about quiet foot work and speeding your arms up on the downswing is passé and is taught correctly just the opposite today. Ground Reaction Force ( GRF) turning the linier forces from the the ground to build a stronger; faster circular motion and direct path of the club head to the ball with reactive hands, arms, and club head is now what it is all about. And at 74 after playing golf for 40 years I finally feel the greatness in my own swing. Cheers

@Big Bright Colors ASMR Agree with your comments except for one thing - this isn’t science lol. Newtonian physics is being applied by folks who never passed a high school physics class much less post grad kinesiology. 😏

It's hypothetical. Who knows. People say the same about Mike Tyson, had his mentor Cus D'Amato, not passed away when he was 19. Had he lived until Tyson was maybe 25, Tyson would've gone undefeated. But, we'll never know.

If you can learn one thing from the pros, it's that there's more than one way to skin a cat. As Arnie said, swing your swing. You can always improve things, but you've also gotta be yourself.
@A-FrameWedge3 жыл бұрын
But Hogan had a steep shoulder turn relative to his position at setup, so it was not as flat as someone with a flatter shoulder turn in which the left arm is parallel to the shoulder at the top of the swing.

Winner of a video, been searching for "right shoulder golf swing downswing" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Penamillorn Peerless Prevalence - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a great one off guide for discovering how to learn an effective golf swing method without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.
