I finally broke 90 using Matty’s 169% confidentiality strategy. Bought a 7W just because the playa said so and told the driver to go away for a bit. Used toe down chipping and got the hoes because I kept it low. All my friends I play with can’t compute because I’m not blasting driver off the tee and I’m only 10 months in on golfing and I’m keeping up with them. Thanks for all the sage advice playa!!

Truly OUTSTANDING content. There is absolutely nothing else like this out there. Ever since Tiger, people started thinking that good golf was all about fitness, strength and how far you hit it! Losing to my 70 yr old father repeatedly when I was younger made me realize it was ALL about course management = putting it where you want. When the pros crush it 375, people ignore that they are ALWAYS thinking and strategizing backwards from the hole on every shot to put the ball where they want that next shot to be!

You did well learning from your dad. My golf buddy (72) and I (63) play twice a week, get paired with many young players, we beat most of those players even though many of them are longer than us. Sometimes we see them start pressing because we're in the fairway, in play, in position, 90% of the time. That can be intimidating. Playing the smart, stress free game Matt advocates certainly makes a hard game easier.

Hey big dawg what is your thoughts on using a mini driver? Ever since my iron striking got better I can't get the driver up to save my life, always hit way too down on it. When I am hitting it decent my iron game goes in the gutter, I usually use a 4-5 iron, 5 wood or 3 wood off the tee. You think it's worth a shot since I have low confidentiality using the big boomerang?
@GolfSidekick7 ай бұрын
My most favorite clubs for handicap golfers: 1. 7 wood or 4 hyb 2. Mini driver 3. Fat sole 56° 4. Chipper 5. Easy to hit irons 6. 5 wood or 3 hyb 7. Flexible shaft driver 12° 8. Fitted putter Nowhere on the list never gonna feature: 15° 3 wood

I recently took the driver and 3-wood out of the bag; no confidentiality. I used my 4 hybrid for T-shots (par4/5s) and took 14 strokes off from my previous round. Not only that, I was hitting good tempo, with what felt like half-swing, and was "outdriving" my playing partners by 10 yards.
@nickbarry70397 ай бұрын
@@GolfSidekick Thanks for the response boss, the 5 wood has been solid off the tee for me as of late. Crazy thing is the best tee shots of my entire life have been when using my old Titleist 15.5 3 wood, usually play 9 and tend to shoot mid to high 40's. Golf is a mad game, thanks for all your knowledge brotha man
@thomastrain73117 ай бұрын
Same issue here. I'm hitting my irons the best I ever have and the driver is going nowhere. Low and only about 20 yds more carry than my 5 iron (22°) . I carry the 5i 210 yds. I've had to adjust my set up with driver. Shoulder tilt (lead shoulder slightly higher) has helped as well as this. Just simply starting with the driver a few inches behind the ball. This helps me to hit the ball on the way up so to speak.
