Novelty Food House's owner Mr Narendra Doshi is a close family friend, as is Mr Kakada Ram Prasad, who was my late father's childhood friend. It is good to see you enjoying the many great cuisines in Sowcarpet! If you have time (and if you are still in Chennai) you must try Mansukh Mithai also for vegetarian food, and Sri Krishna Sweets's specialty i.e. Mysurpa. If you like Chinese food, Chennai has an old Chinese restaurant on Anna Salai that is run by a Chinese family - Chung King. Mr Vincent who used to be the owner (his children may have taken over) was also a close family friend. Thank you for bringing back some lovely memories! I was born and grew up in Chennai, the third generation of Kathiawari Gujaratis who settled in this beautiful city in the 1920s. I now live overseas and have not been there since 2001. Your fantastic show makes me want to visit there and check some of the old and new eating places out again! Best wishes from a senior citizen fan!
