When Satya was released, the Mumbai Underworld was pretty much active. I remember one time going to school and my mother was accompanying me, out of nowhere we heard shots being fired and people running or hiding, soon there were policemen all over the place. They had killed a gangster from Chhota Rajan gang in chembur. So this movie was highly inspired from real life events happening in Mumbai that time, this is the reason why it earned most of it's profit from Mumbai Cinema Halls compared to rest of India.

This song is not of Vishal Bhardwaj but of JD Chakravarty himself. Vishal did a version of this song, but this ain't it.

The entire song is photographed by Ram Gopal Varma because cameraman was absent that day. Saurabh Shukla and Chakravarthy (Satya) revealed it in a later interview. And, the song had no choreographer. RGV asked them to drink beer and dance. By the end of the day, Manoj, Saurabh, Makarand and the whole gang was heavily drunk! (Only happens in RGV films).

"Kallu" is a traditional drink in telugu states. It is basically toddy milk🥛. In Rural Telangana no festival goes by with out kallu. Alcohol % depends on kind of tree and duration it is left in the clay pot which collects it. People go zoomies when they drink it😂. Try it when you are in Telangana.
