generally when i start i get the medium ready by doing the bottom feed so that the top half is still kind of dry . make hole and add some rooting powder then plant and cover with fry soil , so by time the bottom feed is gone the top should be slightly moist ,, as a few times i did your way just to find out that was things compacted it snapped the tap root , did not matter with a few drops or about 1 shot in total , or i will setup medium and leave about 3 and 1/2 inches from top then plant 2 seeds per hole and cover then water till saturated , as everyone has their own styles or preference ,thnkx and keep growing

Great video! Thanks so much as I'm learning so much from you! Quick question...can you start in soil (solo cups) and transplant into coco mix in the growace system? 1st time grower and have cube system but started in solo cups. Also how high do you flood you buckets? Much appreciated 🙏

I don't see why not. Might just delay how often you can feed or water because the soil may stay damp longer than the coco but I don't see why it would be a problem other than that. I start out low flood and work my way up to a heavy flood as the plants grow larger. Nutrients should come with a feeding chart for per gallon. I wouldn't trust any nutrients that didn't come with instructions or direction.
