All these characters you don't see often really throw people for a loop when a skilled one comes along. Duck hunt, IC, etc. People don't know the matchup as well and really throws them off when they start doing crazy things that are unfamiliar. I think IC are scary af personally, I've seen some nasty things from them.

As he should. When he cannot pull through with his carry characters he gets frustrated rather quickly. Imagine having a character that can ignore most attacks from the enemy and kill you with 2 interactions? Ice climbers by all means is mid tier at best. The issue here is that BIG D knew how to capitalize mistakes from Riddles, but throughout all the fiight Riddles characters were just mashing and ignoring most frontal ttacks and killing the ICS in 2 hits or something.

Seems to me that people were so hyperfixated on trying to find and perfect all these inconsistent and impractical infinites that they failed to take into account just how far their insane damage, crazy kill options, disjoints, and desync combos can take them. They never were. I always saw them as at minimum a mid tier with a nasty combo game when you can get a desync. Its just that nobody wants to put in the time and effort with them but instead choose the easiest characters to win with.

I know how to do the soymilk and side b desyncs easily, but I still can't seem to pull of the other desyncs in a real match. Especially also getting that confirm where one climber up tilts and the other up smash after down b. Really hard character to invest time with... but I'm glad I can win against some people because they've never fought Icies... but my Icies is just basic Side B, Up air, and back air spamming with desyncing of down Bs.

They were NEVER low tier lol. More like top of Mid. But I think they're only considered Mid because of the difficulty trade-off for results from them. You can argue how hard Sheik, Joker, Kazuya, etc are to play at an optimal level, but ALL of them have a way better chance of going farther than Icies. Big D worked a miracle getting this far LMAO. Gotta get through the trash before facing higher level possible winning MUs. Really happy for him.
