Honestly don't know why Kola keeps going back to cloud. His Roy is definitely an up and down character, but it feels like when he gives his Roy a full set he can start to bring things back. His cloud just can't play at that insane speed his Roy can.

It’s good for Steve but I think Roy is a better matchup

Kola will usually prefer Roy, even in bad matchups like GNW, but he has a limit like most others. Aegis, and espically Steve or Kazuya don't look worth it as Roy. Maybe he should try Chrom since he can defensively space, but Cloud is just the safe pick.

@@theimpersonator7086 I agree somewhat on the matchups, although I'd argue Roy does okay against pyra/mythra. But Kola is not at his best when he's spamming back-airs, he's at his best when he's firing on cylinders offensively with rushdown characters. I'd be interested to see him pick up Rob as a slightly more defensive character, cuz it seems like kola gets killed the most by getting gimped offstage or edge guarded.

@@Silasp123 Kola is never picking up Rob lmao. At best, I see him picking up Chrom because he can defensively space unlike Roy

@@jaden3744 FP2 killing passion of top players is def something I am worried about. Even if Aegis/Steve/Kazuya arent the best characters in the game, Smash as an esport relies on player passion due to low money. Melee lives on to this day because its playerbase loves it. Brawl and Smash 4 literally died because people grew to hate the metas of those games.

As much as I hate aegis, cosmos definitely wasn't depending on dlc cheese for his win, he just has a very powerful neutral and advantage game with Mythra and in general tbh, and as much as I love good ol Charlie's moist esports kola, he couldn't quite do it with his cloud sadly
