Everyone loves to bring up how zain destroys hbox but people need to talk about how mango is a free win for zain. Mango hasnt beaten zain since ludwigs tournament in 2022 and has lost 11 sets in a row with 5 sets being 3-0s. It looks like a new record of mango not winning a major is on the horizon unless he dodges zain.

There were a couple of key edge guards that Zain missed against Mango’s falco in that tournament. Online latency means falco’s side B actually becomes a very difficult option to cover reliably on reaction.

Well he usually only beats zain with Fox and hasn't played zain with fox since 22 like you said. I think mang0 will get better this year and beat zain a few sets but as soon as he stops grinding it will return to this

7:44 Funny that I happened to catch this, but if you watch, Zain does the exact same 3-move sequence twice in a row. He gets hit out of the startup on utilt the second time though.

@@GUT5SIf he solo mained Falco, he would struggle with some matchups, particularly HBox and aMSa. I think being a dual main suits him better. Additionally, him going Fox against Zain is a much better move, given how his Falco hasn’t beaten Zain in an IRL tournament since December 2021.

Zain makes fox/marth look so free for marth. His Marth vortex is just so well practiced and he knows how to take one hit and take it to a spike or edgeguard. Zain when playing well is just too good to stop.

dang mang0 had god tier recoveries and edge guards, even better than usual, but despite everything Zain got the 3-0 the sets from these guys are just THE best

@@GUT5S Not gonna comment on whether he should go falco or fox but online (these days particularly) absolutely doesn’t count. Compared to something like Goml, Mango and Zain are giving maybe 5% as much effort for any online tournament in 2024. The results mean little.

it's true, but i just came to accept it on commentary years ago. the only player where they discuss how much effort he's bothering to put it, how his mental relationship with the game is doing. what's currently going on in his life outside the game. How much patience or energy he currently has etc etc.

@@twot2224 When you overwhelmingly focus on only one of the players no matter who they go up against, it becomes glazing, and glazing is completely irrelevant. HMW is the only one who actually focused a somewhat fair amount on Zain, the other two just need to go. They're worthless.

@@shinji136 glazing = irrelevant does not logically follow at all. if you're just talking about one person in the match. that might be bad commentary but it's not irrelevant. it's one sided, not irrelevant. you're still talking about the match, and the players in it. just with an obvious bias. how is that irrelevant? and vish talked plenty about zain. if anything hmw (with love) is one of the biggest mango glazers on commentary.
