the problem now is the overuse of effects.. it ends up just making you not care about how the moves look since apparently now everyone can shoot out lightning and have auras and stuff.. it just isn't impactful anymore and everything just feels stale and same-ish. the older times were good when heavy effects were used sparingly and didn't magically give characters abilities they never had just because it looks good prime example being how in the manga luffy using conq against kaido was just some red/black lightning clashes while in the anime its golden super saiyan aura high detailed veins with gold haki flowing through them leading to an overbearing clash
